Apple AirPods Review: Paired with Android

Adding additional gestures would be nice, as they only support a single one at this point. Apple might add extra gestures (like a single-tap) with future firmware updates, we’ll have to see.

Apple AirPods Review: Paired with Android

At AU$229 (US$159), the AirPods aren’t cheap. For that sort of money you can certainly get headphones with better sound quality, but as a compact set of truly wireless headphones, the AirPods do a great job, even if you use them with an Android phone.

The Apple AirPods can be purchased from Apple and other retailers.

MSRP: AU$229 / US$159

What I Like: Excellent battery life; Reliable sync between earbuds; Faultless with Android

What Needs Improvement: Only one gesture; no battery indicator on Android

Do you have to bring up your phone to your mouth to say “Ok Google” or can you do it through the AirPods?

  2. For the firmware thing, it’s trivial to walk into the Apple Store and pair with one of the display phones if you really want to update it.

After connecting with an android for the first time, then do I have to go to sittings and bluetooth and connect everytime?? or does it connect automatically once I switch bluetooth on?
