Ring is giving its indoor security cameras a little game-day cosplay with the new NFL Game Day Cam Cover, a $24.99 snap-on accessory shaped like a miniature football helmet. Available in designs for all 32 NFL teams, the officially licensed cover is for fans who’d rather not leave their smart-home gear looking quite so anonymous during football season. Preorders open today on Amazon and Ring, just as the 2026-2027 NFL season gets underway. It works with select indoor Ring cameras, installs without tools, and is designed not to interfere with the camera’s everyday functions.

A Tiny Helmet for a Camera That Wasn’t Asking for One
The NFL Game Day Cam Cover is exactly what it sounds like: a molded shell that turns a compatible Ring indoor camera into something resembling a miniature NFL helmet. There’s no new camera technology inside, no football-themed recording mode, and no attempt to pretend your security camera desperately needed a uniform. This is decoration.
That doesn’t mean it’s pointless.
Indoor security cameras tend to be conspicuous little objects, especially when they’re sitting on a bookshelf, entertainment center, kitchen counter, or side table. If a Ring camera is already parked in the room where everyone watches football, dressing it in a Cowboys, Steelers, Packers, Chiefs, or any other NFL team helmet makes it look less like surveillance equipment and more like part of the room.
All 32 teams are represented, so nobody has to endure the indignity of discovering their franchise apparently wasn’t merch-worthy enough to make the cut.
The cover snaps on without tools and comes off just as easily. That could be especially useful in a divided household. One person’s Eagles camera can become someone else’s Giants camera for rivalry week, assuming everyone is willing to spend another $24.99 to escalate the domestic arms race.
The Helmet Shouldn’t Get in the Camera’s Way
A decorative helmet would lose its charm quickly if putting it on the camera compromised the reason the camera is there in the first place.
The NFL Game Day Cam Cover is compatible with the Ring Indoor Cam Plus and Ring Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam. It’s designed so that it doesn’t block the lens or sensors, and it shouldn’t affect video quality, motion detection, field of view, or two-way audio.
Motion detection lets the camera recognize movement and trigger recordings or alerts based on your settings. Two-way audio lets you hear what’s happening near the camera and speak through it using the Ring app. Those features need clear access to the camera’s microphones, speakers, lens, and sensors, so the helmet has been shaped to stay out of the way.
In other words, putting a tiny Bears helmet on your Ring camera shouldn’t suddenly leave you wondering what happened to half the living room.
One placement caveat is worth knowing. Ring doesn’t recommend the NFL Game Day Cam Cover for wall-mounted setups. It’s better suited to cameras on flat surfaces, where the helmet stays securely positioned without adding unnecessary drama.
It Makes the Most Sense Where Football Already Happens
Ring has positioned the accessory around game-day gatherings and watch parties, and that’s where the idea makes the most sense.
Picture a Pan-Tilt Indoor Cam sitting on a shelf in the family room, where it normally keeps an eye on pets or lets you check the house while you’re away. On Sunday afternoon, it can wear your team’s helmet while friends take over the sofa, snacks consume every available horizontal surface, and somebody explains in forensic detail why the officiating crew has personally wronged them.
It could also make an easy gift for an NFL fan who already owns a compatible Ring camera. Unlike another team mug, coaster set, or novelty sign, this one personalizes something that may already be sitting in plain sight every day.
Because the cover snaps on and off, it doesn’t have to become permanent decor. Bring it out for rivalry games, the playoffs, Super Bowl Sunday, fantasy football gatherings, or whenever your team is playing well enough that public identification still feels emotionally safe.
$24.99 Buys Team Spirit, Not New Features
The Ring NFL Game Day Cam Cover costs $24.99 per helmet and is available for preorder beginning September 9, 2026.
That price is worth keeping in perspective. This is a cosmetic accessory. It doesn’t add new security features, improve image quality, or make the camera smarter. You’re paying for the officially licensed NFL design, the fitted shell, and the ability to turn a fairly utilitarian piece of home technology into something that reflects your team.
For a casual football fan, $24.99 might be better spent on game-day snacks. For someone whose home already contains enough team colors to qualify as unofficial franchise territory, it probably won’t seem unreasonable.
The timing lines up with the start of the 2026-2027 NFL season and the return of Thursday Night Football on Prime Video, so September is a fairly obvious moment for Ring to introduce a football-themed accessory.
The NFL Game Day Cam Cover is available in designs for every AFC and NFC team. Visit the Ring site or Amazon to see the full selection, check camera compatibility, learn more, or purchase one.
