Honeydew Sheets Review: 100% Organic Bamboo for Your Best Night’s Sleep

I never thought much about the sheets we use on our bed until I tried a set of Honeydew Sheets. The softness of the 100% organic bamboo rayon, the comfort, and the temperature regulation these sheets provide make for a far more restful night than I’ve had in quite a long time. They’re expensive but worth it. Let’s take a quick look.

Bamboo is a remarkable material; it is fast-growing, sustainable, and can be used to make some of the best fabric around. I have t-shirts made from bamboo viscose and love them. They are soft, durable, resist smell, and do a remarkable job helping to maintain proper body temp. I also have a hoodie made from bamboo viscose, which is one of my favorites for the same reasons.

My positive experiences with the t-shirts and hoodie made me want to try a set of Honeydew Sheets; I haven’t been disappointed.

Honeydew Sheets are available in Powdered Sugar (white) and Stardust (light gray) to fit bed sizes Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King, Split King, and Split California King.

Our King-sized Honeydew Sheets arrived in a beautiful presentation box wrapped with a ribbon. The presentation immediately made it clear that this is a premium product created by a company with an eye for detail that wants customers to have a great experience with their product.

When I pulled the Honeydew Sheets from the box, I was impressed by their softness. The company describes them as having a “silky feel.” I agree. In addition, because they are made from bamboo, they wick away moisture and keep you cool all night. As the company puts it,

If the fabric were the only impressive aspect of Honeydew Sheets, it would be reason enough to recommend them, but the company went further to make them among the best available sheets. For example, they have specially designed corner straps that help keep the sheets securely in place.

The sheets are also “self-tailoring” thanks to those elastic straps strategically placed to rest underneath the edges of your mattress.

These apply “just the right amount of pressure to ensure your sheets maintain their perfect fit.”

Considering our struggles with keeping sheets in place (we have a thick mattress that is made even thicker thanks to a technologically advanced bed topper), I appreciated this feature. I was pleased to find that the design actually works. The sheets stay securely in place even though I tend to toss and turn all night.

Honeydew Sheets are also easy to clean. When it’s time to wash them, you do so in your washing machine’s cold or warm water cycle and then tumble dry on low.

I also love that Honeydew Sheets went the extra step and ensured their sheets were Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. That means they have been tested for harmful substances, and you can sleep confidently on them night after night. In fact, the Standard 100 certification means the sheets are even safe for babies.

While preparing this review, I learned that traditional sheets and modern mattresses are not well suited for one another. This surprised me, but Honeydew Sheets explains the issue quite clearly, noting:

Honeydew Sheets also sent along two pillowcases made from the same bamboo fabric. They are soft and comfortable, and they complement the sheets.

When the Honeydew Sheets arrived, I told my wife Raina about them. She asked how much they cost and was a bit shocked that they sell for $299.99. (At the time of this writing, they are discounted to $229.99.)

“I’m not a $299.99 sheet person,” she said. We slept on the sheets that night, and in the morning, she said, “I never knew I was a $299.99 sheet person but apparently I am.”

Here’s her take,

I love these sheets! They are SUPER soft and only seem to get more-so with each washing. They’re also oversized – and for someone with a cover-hogging bed partner, this means I don’t wake up uncovered in the middle of the night. I also LOVE the elastic straps that hold the corners secure. Our platform bed is a bit unwieldy to make and that’s a feature that simplifies the process and ensures that the sheets stay where they’re supposed to be.

Honeydew Sheets are a luxury product, but if you are going to splurge on anything, perhaps a good night’s sleep is a good place to start.

I loved the sheets the first week we used them. I immediately knew the difference when we removed the sheets after a week to wash and made our bed with the set we had been using; the next morning, I stripped the bed and put the bamboo sheets back on. After all, once you have experienced the luxury you get with Honeydew Sheets, it’s hard to go back to anything else.

What I Like: Soft and silky; Resist odor; Helps regulate body temperature and whisks away any moisture; Extra deep corner pockets and elastic straps keep bottom sheet snuggly in place; Not overly tight so they let the mattress deliver proper support all night long; I sleep great on them!

What Needs Improvement: Pricey enough to qualify as a luxury item, but you’ll be glad you made the splurge
