TCL makes great devices, especially their phones and tablets. They’re constantly taking what they learn from one area and bringing those features to other devices, and their entire lineup is fantastic. Now, they’re bringing NXTPAPER to their phones, an update to their tablets, and a partnership with Microsoft to bring AI to everything!
First, TCL is bringing its NXTPAPER tech to more phones with the TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G and TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G. This screen tech allows you to switch between a more traditional-looking screen and a more eye-friendly eInk/color eInk style. They’re even including a dedicated NXTPAPER Key to allow you to swap views more easily.
Both 50-series NXTPAPER phones will sport 6.8″ screens and be certified by TÜV, SGS, and Eyesafe; they also have an integrated Eye Care Assistant.
The screen does more than just keep your eyes safe, though; in Max Ink mode, you can stretch the phone’s battery life to up to 7 days of reading and 26 days of standby!
The Pro version will offer a few more tricks: a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and two optional accessories: a Flipcase cover and a precision T-pen for drawing and notes. Both phones have 108-megapixel rear cameras and will come in completely plastic-free packaging.
With a partnership with Microsoft Azure AI, TCL is looking to make its devices even smarter under the hood. They’ll be integrating Large Language Models and Automatic Speech Recognition. Features include a Text Assistant for translation, content rewrites, and other tricks.
Voice Memo will record and transcribe the recordings so you can refer to them without taking contemporaneous notes. This is part of TCL’s plan to create an even better digital experience designed to make you more productive and connected!
We fell head over heels for the TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G, and if you’re thinking about a TCL tablet, they’re refreshing the NXTPAPER family with the TCL TAB 11 Gen 2. It will feature an 11″ NXTPAPER screen with a MediaTek Helio G80 under the hood and a roomy 256GB of internal storage. Best of all, it’ll keep trucking along for quite a while with an 8,000 mAh battery!
