Google’s new Pixel 10 lineup has officially arrived, and whether you’re eyeing the $799 Pixel 10 or considering splurging on the $999 Pixel 10 Pro, the $1,199 Pro XL, or the all-new $1,799 Pixel 10 Pro Fold, these phones are about more than just sharper photos and faster processors. The big story is Gemini, Google’s built-in AI that now sits at the center of everything the Pixel does. The company is betting that you’ll want a phone that not only takes better pictures but also anticipates what you might need next.
Meet the Pixel 10
Starting at $799, the Pixel 10 delivers the essentials with enough extras to make your current device feel dated. It comes in colors with personality — Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass, and Obsidian — and a satin finish with recycled aluminum accents that make it look as good as it feels.
Durability has been doubled compared to the Pixel 8, thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the 6.3″ OLED display reaches 3,000 nits peak brightness, keeping things visible even in full sun.
AI plays a role here, too. Magic Cue surfaces helpful info in the moment, while features like Ask Photos and Gemini Live make searching, translating, and identifying objects feel futuristic but practical.
The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL: When You Want More
The Pro ($999) and Pro XL ($1,199) refine the Pixel 10 experience with more premium builds, larger and brighter Super Actua displays, and spacecraft-grade aluminum frames. Colors lean sophisticated with Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian.
The triple-camera system takes things further with a 50-megapixel wide, 48-megapixel ultrawide with Macro Focus, and a 48-megapixel telephoto that supports up to 100x Pro Res Zoom. A 42-megapixel ultrawide selfie camera and 8K video recording with Video Boost push Google’s mobile photography to new heights.
AI tools expand here as well. Gemini can generate short videos from text prompts, Live Translate now uses natural-sounding voices, and creative assistance feels baked into the workflow. Both Pro models also support faster charging, Pixelsnap magnetic accessories, and seven years of software updates, making them more long-term investments.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Google’s Big-Screen Play
For those who want a device that’s more than a phone, the $1,799 Pixel 10 Pro Fold combines Pixel AI with a foldable form factor. Folded, it looks like a standard Pro with a 6.4″ display. Unfold it, and you’re met with an expansive 8″ Super Actua Flex screen — the largest Pixel display yet — on a body that’s thinner than expected and reinforced with a new high-strength hinge. It’s also Google’s first foldable rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.
The Fold is built for multitasking and entertainment. Split Screen lets you run two apps side by side, tabletop mode doubles as a stand for streaming or hands-free photos, and Instant View previews your shots in real time. The camera setup includes a 48-megapixel wide, 10.5-megapixel ultrawide, and 10.8-megapixel telephoto with up to 20x zoom, while Dual Screen Preview makes group shots easier than ever.
Performance matches ambition with the Tensor G5 chip, 16GB of RAM, and Gemini’s full suite of AI tricks, including Magic Cue, Circle to Search, and the ability to generate videos from text prompts. Battery life stretches past 24 hours, charging hits 50% in 30 minutes, and Pixelsnap wireless charging is supported. Like its siblings, it’s backed by seven years of updates and AI-driven safety features such as Theft Detection and Satellite SOS.
So, What Do We Think?
The Pixel 10 series is less about specs on paper and more about how AI reshapes everyday interactions. The base Pixel 10 offers strong value, the Pro and Pro XL deliver Google’s best cameras and displays, and the Pro Fold reimagines what a phone can be by blending phone and tablet into one device.
Prices start at $799 for the Pixel 10, $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro, $1,199 for the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and $1,799 for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Trade-in and carrier deals can ease the price, but whichever you choose, Google’s betting its latest Pixels will feel less like phones and more like indispensable AI companions.
Carrier Specials
Of course, even the smartest phone feels smarter when you don’t pay full price for it. Google and its carrier partners are dangling some generous trade-in credits and bill credits to soften the sticker shock, whether you’re upgrading from an older Pixel or jumping ship from another brand. Here’s a look at the deals that can bring the Pixel 10 lineup within easier reach.

New customers adding two or more lines can save $1,000 in their first year, while those switching from another provider can get up to $500 per line, for up to five lines, to help cover the move. Comcast Business is also offering eligible small business customers a free mobile line for a year with a qualifying plan, available until September 21.
Nice improvements in the latest Pixels. The seven years of software updates is very good.
This generation seemed to come quickly. As the article stated, probably more about AI than specs.
Good to hear about the durability since we all know, at some point, we will need that feature.
