Robotic lawn mowers excel at the repetitive parts of yard work, but boundaries, slopes, trees, tight corners, and uneven ground still expose their limitations. The MAMMOTION LUBA 4 AWD is designed to spend less time being confused by those problem areas. Introduced for IFA 2026, the new flagship series combines four cameras, 360-degree LiDAR, high-precision satellite positioning, all-wheel drive, and wider cutting decks for lawns ranging from 0.75 to 3 acres. It also adds optional automated edge trimming, because mowing most of the lawn still leaves you holding a trimmer.
More Eyes on the Yard
The biggest change is MAMMOTION‘s Surround Quad-Vision × Tri-Fusion positioning system, a name that needs a little unpacking. Four wide-angle cameras watch the front, sides, and rear of the mower, while 360-degree LiDAR uses laser pulses to measure surrounding objects and build a picture of the mower’s environment. NetRTK adds high-precision satellite positioning to the mix.
Those three systems are designed to overlap rather than work in isolation. If trees, buildings, or other obstructions make one positioning method less reliable, the others can help keep the mower oriented. That’s especially relevant in yards with dense tree cover, low-light conditions, narrow passages, or landscaping that trips up simpler navigation systems.
The extra rear and side awareness should also help the LUBA 4 AWD detect obstacles that aren’t directly in front of it. That sounds obvious until you’ve watched a robot mower confidently turn into something it couldn’t see a moment earlier.
Setup remains wire-free. You don’t need to bury a perimeter cable around the lawn, and this generation doesn’t require a separate RTK base station. MAMMOTION’s iNavi Service, which supplies the NetRTK positioning data, is included globally for the lifetime of the product.
All-Wheel Drive Gets Smarter About Turning
LUBA has already made all-wheel drive a defining features of the line, and the LUBA 4 AWD adds active independent steering for the front wheels, independent torque control at all four wheels, and the ability to mow in either direction.
Torque vectoring simply means the mower can send power where there’s more grip instead of treating every wheel exactly the same. That should matter on loose soil, uneven areas, and slopes, where traction can disappear quickly. The new models are rated to handle grades of up to 80%, or 38.6 degrees, which is steep enough that most people wouldn’t be eager to push a conventional mower across it.
The steering changes may be just as important for the lawn itself. Guided by the cameras and LiDAR, the mower can move between passes without relying on aggressive in-place U-turns. Less pivoting on the grass should mean less scuffing and fewer torn-up patches, particularly when the ground is soft.
That’s one of the more sensible ideas here. A robot that leaves beautifully straight mowing lines but chews up the turf every time it turns isn’t quite the triumph of automation it first appears to be.
Three Models Cover Lawns up to 3 Acres
MAMMOTION will offer the LUBA 4 AWD in three versions. The 3000F is intended for lawns up to 0.75 acres, or 3,000 square meters. The 6000F increases coverage to 1.5 acres, or 6,000 square meters, while the 12000F is designed for properties up to 3 acres, or 12,000 square meters.
The 3000F and 6000F use two cutting discs for a 440 mm, or roughly 17.3″, cutting width. The 12000F adds a third disc and stretches that to 530 mm, or about 20.9″. Wider decks can cover more grass in each pass, which matters more as lawn size increases.
MAMMOTION has also incorporated an impact-absorbing blade design intended to cope better with rougher mowing conditions. Each floating cutting deck carries six pivoting razor blades designed to follow dips and raised areas independently rather than forcing the entire cutting assembly to stay at one fixed angle. That should help when a lawn has crowns, shallow depressions, thicker patches of grass, or the sort of uneven terrain that looks perfectly flat until you’re walking behind a mower.
Cutting height ranges from 25 to 100 mm, roughly 1″ to 3.9″, on the 3000F and 6000F. The 12000F adjusts from 25 to 85 mm, or about 1″ to 3.3″.
The mower also uses a detachable high-capacity battery, efficient power management, and 210W fast charging. MAMMOTION hasn’t provided battery capacity or claimed runtime figures in the announcement, so how those charging improvements translate into real mowing time will be something worth watching once complete specifications are available.
The Edges May Be the More Interesting Upgrade
Robotic mowers can save hours of repetitive work and still leave a narrow strip of grass beside a wall, fence, or garden bed that needs manual attention. LUBA 4 AWD addresses that with an optional edge-trimming accessory designed to bring boundary work into the same automated routine.
Whether it can eliminate the string trimmer from your weekend remains to be seen, but the idea makes sense. If you’ve got a large fenced yard, long runs of landscaping beds, or several hard boundaries, removing even part of the follow-up trimming could make automation substantially more useful.
The app is also getting offline voice control and remote video monitoring, letting you issue some commands without an internet connection and check the yard through the mower’s cameras when you’re elsewhere. Additional artificial intelligence features are planned through future software updates, although MAMMOTION hasn’t detailed those capabilities yet.

The LUBA 4 AWD arrives as MAMMOTION marks its 10th year in outdoor robotics. At IFA 2026, visitors can see live turf demonstrations at Indoor Booth H9-123 and Outdoor Booth OCG-141, alongside the rest of the company’s lineup.
Preorders for the LUBA 4 AWD series are scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2026. Pricing hasn’t been announced, and model availability and final specifications may vary by region, so that’s an important gap still waiting to be filled.
The combination of surround-view sensing, AWD traction, turf-conscious steering, larger cutting widths, and optional edge trimming makes the LUBA 4 AWD an interesting step toward a mower that handles more of the annoying parts of lawn care, not just the broad, easy stretches. The real test will be whether all of those systems work together reliably when the yard is messy, shaded, sloped, and inconvenient, because lawns rarely arrange themselves for a product demo.
