Precision HSD Holster For iPhone 3G and 3GS – Review

Precision HSD

After a time most iPhone cases start looking alike. There are, in fact, a relatively small number of styles from which to choose and all cases take a different approach to one style or the other. Precision HSD Holster For iPhone 3G and 3GS falls into the belt-holster style but definitely brings its own unique aspects to it.

Let’s take a look and see if this is the next case you should grab.

The Precision HSD Holster For iPhone 3G and 3GS comes from AGF. I was not familiar with the company prior to getting the review unit but they seem to have a number of nice device accessories available on their site.

The company lists its features this way…

New patented innovative carry solution for additional safety and security

Engineered hinge to enhance use and durability

Does not latch directly to the phone

iPhone can be carried face-in or face-out

Protects both sides of phone, extra durability and style

Easy to open door to view calls or phone status

Patented AGF long-life 180 degree swivel belt clip

I found the plastic from which it is made to be heavy-duty and, thankfully, not super shiny. That means it can take a lot more use and abuse than it would were it to have a shiny finish.

The front of the holster has a nice geometric design that is, at one and the same time, both subtle and attractive.

It is well machined with clean edges, a sturdy hinge and a locking/clip mechanism that seems to be more than up to the job.

The belt-clip is heavy-duty, as well and rotates 180 degrees to help ensure a comfortable position while using it.

As noted above, the design of the holster allows the iPhone to be placed facing in…

or facing out.

When in the holster the iPhone seems nicely protected.

Equally important, perhaps more-so in fact, the iPhone is held in just tightly enough to not fall out when the holster is flipped open.

What I Like:

Well made, fit and finish are excellent, sturdy

What Needs Improvement:

Nothing, if you are into holster for your iPhone 3G or 3GS (I’m not personally) this is worth a look.

The Precision HSD has an MSRP of $34.95. It is currently shown as out of stock but can be ordered directly from the manufacturer.
