Just yesterday I was speaking with a friend who commented that she was continually surprised by the weak volume coming from most MacBooks. “Sure,” she said, “the sound isn’t all that great to begin with but what’s worse is that they just don’t get very loud.”
Well that’s not longer an issue thanks to a small utility called Boom.
As the product page explains,
Boom is a simple volume booster that lets you boost the volume of your Mac and your music files.
Using Boom is simple. You know the ways to change the volume of your Mac. Boom provides the same easy access to boost sound.
From the videos on YouTube, Hulu, your favorite music playing on iTunes, to voice applications like Skype, iChat and your favorite Games, Boom can boost them all. Add to that the ability to boost audio files, you have a booming addition to your Mac.
So start booming and blow away the silence!
The application even has a built-in equalizer so you can not only “Boom” your music but tweak it to your taste as well.
There’s more… you can also “Boost” a file so that, when synced to your iOS device, the volume is high than it was previously. Near trick huh?
And all of this is just a $4.99 download on the product page. I tried it for three minutes and bought a copy for myself. It really does wonders.
Thanks to Ali Heriyanto of Chip Chick for the tip.
