Seriously, the White iPhone 4??? Who Cares!?

I know I’ll likely get flamed in the comments below but I don’t really care; not when it comes to the reason for this post at least. Why? Because seriously I’m in a total quandry about this and I would LOVE your help in understanding it. My question:

WHO CARES ABOUT THE WHITE IPHONE????

Seriously.

Who cares about an almost year-old design in a color that will show smudges and dirt better than just about anything other than smudges and dirt??

Who wants to pay full price or get locked into a 2-year contract when the device is now moving toward its end-of-life lifecycle?

I mean, I get why someone (THOMAS!) would buy a Verizon iPhone 4 right now. After all, it may be a nine-month old but NOT dropping calls NEVER gets old. But the white iPhone for the white iPhone’s sake? Seriously?

People, get a case. Get a decal. Grab a conversion kit. Better still…

Get some spray paint.

But the white iPhone being a big deal tomorrow?

The ONLY reason I can see for the hype is the fact that we always tend to want what we cannot have. Show someone a piece of cake and then tell them it isn’t for them and they will be lusting for that cake. Get rejected for a date by someone and THAT will be the person of your dreams. Announce that the iPhone 4 will launch in two colors and then repeatedly push off the release of the white one and people will want it more than ever.

I guess it is just human nature but SERIOUSLY a year-old phone design in white??? Is that REALLY a big deal??

Help me understand…
