Last year I reviewed Whispered Fear: The Cursed Doll from Vogat and G5 Entertainment, a haunting tale brought to life through the casual hidden object genre. Now they are back with Temptation. Episode I, another dark and mysterious tale full of dread and misfortune. The story is once again wonderfully integrated and enjoyable to explore –making this another great game!

Major features:
By now I have reviewed enough hidden object genre games that approaching a new one is like selecting from a menu: hidden object scenes, location screens, puzzles, combined item logic, and so on. And exactly how much of each would you like in your bowl, and how much story and character and atmosphere would you like to combine.
Temptation. Episode I meets the ‘standard framework’ of a hidden object game, to be sure. But where it is distinctive is in the depth and connectedness of the game. Whereas many games have areas you simply ‘check off’ and random items to find, here each place is integrated into a fully realized world that is connected to the story. And everything you do and find means something in the larger context of the adventure.
The best games bring story, tension, atmosphere and cerebral involvement along with plenty of fun. Temptation has you uncovering a complex and twisted story that is sinister and insidious … but also enjoying one of the better genre games I have played. A great experience every fan of the hidden object genre should grab!
Ease of use/Overall performance:
If you are familiar with hidden object games you will be immediately comfortable here. Load times were quick, and never single crash. The graphics look fantastic on the iPad Mini, even without a Retina screen. And the voice acting is excellent – both in terms of the amount and the quality.
Would use again/recommend?: Absolutely! I cannot recommend this one highly enough – the depth of the experience is one of the best I have ever seen in the hidden object genre.
Suggested changes/wish list for updates: Nothing
