Happy Plugs 18K Solid Gold In-Ear Earphones, Because You Can?

Happy Plugs 18K Solid Gold In-Ear Earphones

I’m the first to throw down for a bit of every day luxury, but I was still taken aback by the $14,500 hand-crafted Happy Plugs 18K gold deluxe edition earbuds. Granted, earphones can last much longer than the average mobile phone, but how long and how often would you have to keep using these to justify the price?

  • Handcrafted by a Swedish goldsmith in Stockholm, each pair of 18-carat earbuds is made to order with 25 grams of solid gold
  • 18-carat solid gold adds instant glamour to your headphones
  • Features a built-in microphone for hands-free calling and remote for talk and music control
  • Compatible with all devices with a standard 3.5mm connection

Of course, you can get other far less expensive in-ear earphones from Happy Plugs ($24.99 gets their usual fare), but you have to at least take a moment and marvel at the idea of spending $14,500 on something your dog (or 10-year-old) could destroy in less time than it took me to open the product’s webpage.
