You can never have too much protection for your smart phone. And when I say protection, I don’t mean those filmy screen protectors that you can get from your mobile provider in those three packs. Get yourself a quality protector!

Tactus’ VitriFender Japanese Asahi Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 6 Plus is the product that I recently had an opportunity to put on my phone, and it’s honestly just beautiful. Compared to the previous glass screen protector I purchased from Verizon Wireless which was pretty thick (and caught virtually every fingerprint), the VitriFender is about half the thickness, and offers twice the protection.

The tempered glass doesn’t affect the actual function of the phone as all due to the fact its special oleophobic coating feels like you’re touching the iPhone itself and not the screen. The touch sensitivity is so fluid compared to others that I’ve tried which required me to tap a bit harder; VitriFender seems to have gotten it right. It’s also scratch resistant, so you don’t have to worry about having it in your pocket with your keys and having the screen protector show visible signs of wear and tear. If you’re wondering what oleophobic means … it’s just a fancy term meaning it repels those greasy fingers you have when eating bar food. Because you know you do.

But the VitriFender isn’t just a fancy anti-fingerprint screen protector, it’s also really protective to drops. The 0.3mm thick, bubble free glass has a hardness of 9-10h, which is three times as strong as normal screen protectors. Meaning it not only will protect from front facing drops, but it’s shock absorbency reinforces the actual iPhone’s screen itself. The package comes with its own application kit including the standard alcohol kit, squeegee, and cleaning cloth. There’s no crazy sprays you need to apply to your screen to make the VitriFender stick either which is ideal.

I am loving the overall fluidity of the screen protector, and the thinness of it makes it also invisible if you properly place it onto the iPhone. Also available for iPhones 4, 5/5s & iPhone 6, the Tactus VitriFender is on par with prices of other glass screen protectors at $19.99. On top of the low price, you get a Lifetime warranty, so what are you waiting for?

The VitriFender by Tactus is available directly from the manufacturer.

What I like: The overall feel of the screen protector makes it as if there’s not one actually there
