The hardest part of traveling isn’t the commute, but the actual luggage you carry. And one important thing when it comes to luggage is finding some that has quality and durability.
So when GeniusPack sent me over their 25” Hardside Spinner Upright, I had all intentions of using my same old cloth material luggage I’ve been using the past seven years, but I was instantly having a change of heart.
The checked luggage is a beauty, and it’s crush-proof hard exterior is attractive to say the least. After sitting on the spinner I can say my weight held up on it well, and it did not leave a dent at all. 25-inches certainly isn’t carry-on size, so don’t dare attempt to get this baby on a plane, especially since the hard poly-carbonate coated material probably won’t fit in the overhead compartment at all. I did not bother to challenge this.
But this thing is LIGHT. Straight out of the box it came in at around eight pounds which is good because the airlines I use the most charge a fee for any (full) luggage over 50lbs. So being able to add an additional 40-odd pounds is great. I’ll be heading to CES in a few months and I’ll certainly need durable luggage to hold my clothing for that week-long escapade.
Using the bag itself was easy as expected with it not only being light, but helpful. I’m always forgetting something, and ending up having to request it from the hotel I’m staying in.
GeniusPack was nice enough to include a packing checklist for some of the most often used items that even though you may think you have them, sometimes slip through the cracks.
GeniusPack’s attention to detail is much appreciated as they dedicated some organized pockets for your knick knacks like your phone chargers, as well as your socks and underwear because who doesn’t like to keep those separate?
I personally found the space to the left of the organizational pockets to be very spacious, however for the traveling I was doing I needed a bit more space, so I used GeniusPack’s secluded Laundry compartment to house bigger items like an extra pair of shoes, a pair of shorts, as well as an extra pair of jeans.
You could fit way more if you wanted to on the laundry compartment side over the normal side due to the fact that the expandable carrying handle sits in the grooves of the bag which in turn takes up a bit of space.
Once I had my bag all situated with clothing and things for my trip, I felt secure in knowing that GeniusPack included a TSA friendly combination lock that makes me feel safe that those sometimes curious airport attendants won’t just go through my things attempting to steal something.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a bag with a combination lock on it, and although it does add security, the flashy look of the bag will stand out for sure, which could be both a good or a bad thing, depending on how you see it.
All in all, for the price of this luggage being only $188, it’s already more secure than most of the others on the market, and you can be sure that it’s way better looking . Add on top of the fact it’s durable, you won’t ever have to worry about things like the fabric of a normal suitcase tearing and ripping when it goes off the plane onto the belt, which is a great feeling to have. Add in the silent spinner wheels (which I prefer, I hate dragging the bag, and it looks way cooler rolling at your side), and GeniusPack I can say got it right with their Hardside Spinner Upright.
You can get your hands on the GeniusPack Spinner in Platinum, or Brushed Chrome now over at GeniusPack’s site for $188.00, which is down from it’s original price of $248.00. Travel in style starting today.

What I liked: The wheels actually are silent and maneuver without a hitch; combination lock.
What Needs Improvement: Maybe less “laundry” space and more space for your clean clothes.
