The Aura Clean Ultrasonic Toothbrush System by Tao is more than just an electric way to get rid of those cavities, it’s also supposed to keep away the harmful germs in your bathroom away from your mouth as well.
Cleanliness is… well you know the saying. But in terms of minty fresh AND germ free breath, cleanliness is next to your faucet when it comes to this toothbrush. The review sample that I was sent comes in black and white, with me receiving the black model.
Tao’s Aura Clean is the most modern toothbrush on the market today. Sitting at a modest price of $199.99, the toothbrush promises to clean every tooth in your head in two minutes with over 40,000 strokes per minute.
The Aura Clean comes in a simple package, with a state of the art ultrasonic technology system that has two modes to clean off the gunk build up between your teeth, as well as the toothbrush itself. Coming with the toothbrush itself, an ultraviolet base station used to prevent the spread of bacteria, and the charger you plug into the wall that keeps everything going.
The housing of the Aura Clean looks more like a genie bottle than a docking station for the toothbrush itself. Admittedly so it’s a big on the large side, but with Tao promising to kill 99.9% of germs on the toothbrush itself, I’ll take the size anyway. The chamber itself houses the Aura Clean upside down and cleans it while drying is, so you’ll never have to worry about nasty buildup on your toothbrush.
After using, I will say though, to rinse the toothbrush out thoroughly because even though the toothbrush does sanitize, and the UV lights might keep away germs, the white residue from toothpaste does still exist if not properly rinsed off.
One thing that I thought was pretty interesting about the Aura clean is the “alert” that you get which you might not know if you don’t read the instructions that come in the packaging. Tao included a nice alert system that when the toothbrush is on and working, there will be an alert-type of “pause” that may make you think that the toothbrush needs to be charged, but it’s really there to indicate that you need to change your brushing zone. This is helpful for me as I have a poor habit of staying on one side too long.
However, the charging base though is something I was more concerned about though. With a fully exposed bottom to the Aura Clean, one would think “well how sanitary could this be if the water from the brush itself drips onto the sink? Can’t germs just get up there the same way?”
Not necessarily as the toothbrush itself is securely fastened, and the UV lights sit just underneath where the bottom of the Aura Clean’s bristles will be, so there will be no contamination, from the top of the ultrasonic toothbrush dock or the bottom.
Oral case is just as important as sanitation and Tao has done everything right with their Aura Clean. Think about it. Most of you sit your toothbrush in a cup in your bathroom, the same place that you do your hair in the morning, comb your hair, and get ready for the day. Shouldn’t there be something to protect the harmful things floating in the air that even though you can’t see them, they are still there? That’s what the Aura Clean is there for.
In regards to the toothbrush itself, it works just like you would expect. The bristles themselves only come in one size which could potentially be a downside for those of you who have a habit of wanting “extra rough, or super sensitive” bristles as this sits firmly int he middle. The only thing I wish that this did come bundled with was the possibility of a tongue scraper, because the power for the Aura Clean is so strong when it comes to brushing, it would be great to have this feature for the tongue as well.
