With Christmas coming up in less than a week, there’s one thing that you’ll surely see at either a Holiday party, or even just at one of your relatives homes: Wine. So why not gift them the best accessories to complement their wine collection with two products by Napa Select that they are certainly going to love?
Napa Select sent me over two of their special sets that are also available on Amazon, which is perfect if you’re in the need for a gift for the in-laws, a friend, or even just a gift for yourself.
The first set I received is Napa Select’s three piece set, which come complete with a wine bottle opener, Aerator, and stopper. First things first, Napa Select’s products are a GREAT quality, and will certainly stand the test of time. What’s even more impressive is that the ENTIRE set is only $19.99 right now. I’ve purchased Aerators in the past that would cost me $40-50 just for that alone, so the fact that I’m getting the best of all three is just impressive.
First is the corkscrew, which comes complete with a wood grain finish. If you’ve ever used a hand corkscrew before, you’re used to how the setup works. The wood finish itself is actually pretty sturdy, although I will say it’s best that you hand wash it before and after every use. I wouldn’t go and put it in the dishwasher and possibly ruin the overall look by chance.
The aerator itself comes with a screen to help you from over pouring. Since the bottom of the aerator itself is of a rubber material versus glass like some others on the market, you won’t have to worry about it possibly cracking when releasing it from the wine bottle itself, which is pretty neat.
Finally there’s the wine stopper, which is only a part of the box for customers who actually decide to stop drinking. But why would you do that? To keep it fresh of course! The best wine stoppers use a vacuum seal styling that fit into the mouth of the bottle, and can save the aroma and flavor of your drink.
One thing I’ve seen from the Napa Select Wine stopper that it easily beats the other strange looking or otherwise bulky looking competitors, and the Napa Select’s pull top makes it EASY to get the cork right back out so you can pour another glass easily. So please tell your aunt that she can stop attempting to push the original cork back into the glass. And luckily, the stopper itself has a rubber tip which is dishwasher safe, so you can easily just toss it into the dishwasher after the fact.
Now obviously you don’t want to keep your wine forever but these three will not keep the preservation and the quality of your wine the way it tasted upon uncorking, but what happens when you need to open that next bottle? That’s where the Best Rabbit Wine Bottle Opener comes into play. Also made by Napa Select, the Best Rabbit is actually the third “fancy” wine bottle opener I’ve ever had, and it’s certainly the best. A few years ago, I received a Brookstone Wine Bottle Opener, and it was so huge, it sat in the back of my cabinet for months before I finally put it in a box and used it as a White Elephant gift. The Best Rabbit however is here to stay though.
First off, the Best Rabbit ($44.95 on Amazon) has a bronzed finish that just screams sophistication. For example, on Thanksgiving, and it impressed all of my family. The Best Rabbit even came with its own foil cutter so I didn’t have that awkward moment where I’m attempting to unwrap the foil wrapping on the outside of the wine and it possibly stops midway through. The Best Rabbit won’t allow that as it not only removes the foil, but the wax if that is included.
If you’ve never actually used a wine opener such as this, it does take some getting used to. You have to hold the Best Rabbit’s included grip handle with one hand while attempting to raise the lever of the Rabbit with your other. Being left-handed, this is a process that might take two or three tries to actually get the hang of. Once you’ve got the lever to the point it won’t lift again, you’ll hear a click and all you do is just release the grip handles and pull the Best Rabbit away from the wine bottle.
Overall, The Best Rabbit and the Napa Select three piece set are two great products that not only are great gifts, but they are also great for your own home, especially if you’d like to show off how much of a wine connoisseur you may be. What I like: The Best Rabbit’s copper finish is beautiful, and the aerator works as needs.
What Needs Improvement: The hand corkscrew itself could do away with the wood finish just and just go with the silver polished finish.
