NY Times Digital Subscription Drops from $34.99 to $9.99

The latest update to the NY Times app on my Nexus 6 is now displaying a new subscription price. Previously the cost was $34.99 for the NY Times digital edition. Now the price is $9.99 though the application notes that it is for a “limited time”.

The price includes both online (www.nytimes.com) and digital (Android and iOS) access though it does NOT include home delivery.

The in-app subscription is only available on a monthly basis so it’s possible that this $9.99 price will be a short duration test to gauge interest.
