2018 is the year that you’ll be to talk to your Samsung Fridge. Samsung’s innovative Family Hub is getting an upgrade for 2018, and we can’t say that we didn’t see this one coming! To that effect, starting this year the Family Hub 3.0 fridges will be integrated into Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem, as well as Bixby.

For those who aren’t familiar with SmartThings, SmartThing’s is essentially Samsung’s own smart home control system that allows users to do everything from controlling the lights remotely to monitoring and controlling just about all of your connected smart home connected devices – including those from other brands.

Now that the Family Hub will play nicely with SmartThings, lucky Family Hub fridge owners will be able to use the fridge to control and monitor all of the smart products connected to their SmartThings ecosystem. That means that they’ll for example, be able to see who is ringing their Ring doorbell on their fridge, or check the baby monitor from the fridge.

In addition, Bixby is also coming to the Family Hub fridge, allowing for a more natural way to interact with your fridge and all of its features.
