Showers Pass has the whole family equipped for all seasons and every weather condition. They were nice enough to send my wife and me some outerwear to try out now that Fall is upon us, the Men’s Trailhead Bamboo-Merino Hoodie and the Women’s Rogue Hoodie. Both demonstrate the high quality that Showers Pass has become known for.
First, let’s talk about the Men’s Trailhead Bamboo-Merino Hoodie. It’s one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I’ve ever worn. It’s soft and warm and looks really sharp too. With the contrasting quarter zipper, drawstring, and seams on the arms and hoodie, the Trailhead Hoodie is an attractive piece of clothing for sure.
The Hoodie is made out of a blended Merino Wool and Bamboo tech fabric that combines the soft moisture-wicking properties of bamboo with the warm anti-odor benefits of Merino Wool. The Hoodie provides warmth, breathability, odor control, and insulation. The sleeves are made slightly longer so you can cover your hands while on a bicycle and the hood is also thin enough to fit underneath a bike helmet. The Hoodie also features kangaroo pockets on the front with hidden zip closures.
The Trailhead Bamboo-Merino Hoodie has become my new favorite sweatshirt. I wear it every chance I get and I even got a little excited when the weather started getting colder, knowing I could wear my Trailhead Hoodie even more often! You can get yours now for $125 directly from ShowersPass.com.
The Women’s Rogue Hoodie by Showers Pass is a solid choice for a raincoat. According to Showers Pass, it is “a streetwise, bike-friendly, and fiercely weather-resistant technical hoodie.” Unlike many ordinary raincoats, this one is fleece lined using waterproof-breathable fabric. On those extra humid, rainy days, this coat won’t make you feel like your arms are sweating and sticking to the sleeves. Additionally, the sleeves have wrist gaiters with thumb loops. In order to assist with designing the perfect fit, there are adjustable drawcords at the hem and hood.
I read many reviews that claimed the Rogue Hoodie ran small so I decided to size up from my typical medium to large. The fit is somewhat large in the sleeves and shoulders, but this extra space gives me room for layers so I can wear this coat year-round. Personally, I’d rather a roomier fit than a tighter fit for a coat.
The first time I wore the Rogue Hoodie was in a torrential downpour in August and the temperature was about 85 degrees outside. The coat kept me perfectly dry and even though it’s fleece-lined, I stayed comfortable thanks to the moisture-wicking material. I love how the pockets have zipper closures to keep my belongings dry and safe. The pockets are deep and easily accessible. The inside of the coat his 3 pockets, one on each side and a designated zippered media pocket on the chest with a cutout for headphones.
Overall, I love this jacket. I know Showers Pass labeled this coat as a hoodie, but I think it’s more of a raincoat than a sweatshirt. I wouldn’t grab this coat on a chilly evening, but I wouldn’t think twice to wear it in the rain.
