Stern Pinball Launches New Black Knight Series Game

For all you pinball wizards, Stern Pinball has a third game for you to enjoy in their Black Knight series called Black Knight: Sword of Rage. The game is offered in three different models of Pro, Premium and a Limited Edition which has only a 600 production run globally.

As can be seen in the video above, the new pinball machine has an amazing amount of detail and polish that should make the experience quite immersive for players. One of the interesting traits is the Black Knight bash toy in the middle that has bi-directional motorized flail to battle with and even custom speech to taunt you as you play.  All models also have “Magna Save” which is a user-controlled magnet that can be used to prevent the ball from draining – adding some level of additional skill.

“There’s nothing more iconic in the pinball universe than the Black Knight character,” said Gary
Stern, Chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball, Inc. “Created by game designer Steve “The King”
Ritchie, the Black Knight has always taunted and antagonized players to battle him and now, for
the first time, players will be able to fight back.”

The audio and visuals behind this new pinball game are pretty impressive too. The music is composed and performed by Scott Ian of Anthrax with Brendon Small accompanied by the speech of Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies. On the video side, the game uses Stern Pinball’s SPIKE system which provides for HD graphics on an HD video display while also pumping audio through a high-fidelity powerful 3-channel audio system.

If it’s not clear yet these are extremely high-quality pinball machines and that rightfully comes with a price to match. The Stern Pinball website has a handy place to see the differences between the three different models and the prices are as follows:

  • Pro Model: $US 5,999
  • Premium Model: $US 7,599
  • Limited Edition Model: $US 8,999

All editions are available through either a dealer or distributor depending on whether this is for personal use or to add to your commercial arcade.
