Samsung Unveils New Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra Flagship Lineup

Earlier today, we got the sad news that due to concerns over the Corona Virus, Mobile World Congress was canceled. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing great new hardware this spring. Samsung led the way at their Unpacked event, announcing the new Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra.

Each of the three new models offers something unique, but there are similarities across the line.

First and foremost, let’s give it up for 5G! Each of the new devices will ship with the latest 5G technology. That means these will be some of the fastest phones available. Better still, they will be ready to give top speeds across the majority of carriers and will be ready as additional carriers roll out their 5G networks.

As TM Roh, President, and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics notes,

As we enter this new decade, 5G will completely change how we communicate and how we experience the world around us. As all three S20 variants come with 5G connectivity, Samsung is providing a next-generation device for transforming people’s lives. With an incredible, AI powered camera, you can capture the moments as they happen and connect more seamlessly with the people you love.

Let’s also get ready for cameras that take picture-perfect pictures. The new S20 line features a new camera system that is powered by AI and offers the largest image sensor Samsung has ever put into a camera.

Groundbreaking Zoom Capability: With the Galaxy S20’s Space Zoom technology, even when you are far away, you can zoom in close. Use up to 30x zoom on the Galaxy S20 and S20+ with Space Zoom, our AI-based Super-Resolution Zoom, or step- up to 100x Space Zoom, with the revolutionary folded lens on the S20 Ultra with 10x Hybrid Optic Zoom.

Also, Samsung packed in its new Space Zoom, which delivers impressive zoom capabilities. The new camera system also has Samsung’s Single Take functionality, which lets the devices capture a variety of photos and videos and then employ AI to recommend the best shot. Yes, the days of grabbing that special shot only to discover the image are out of focus or worse is over. Now you can capture an assortment of images using the phones’ capabilities and then let the device’s ”smarts” select the best.

The S20 and S20+ have a 64MP camera while the S20 Ultra has an amazing 108MP camera. The S20 Ultra even allows you to quickly shift between shooting in 108MP mode and 12MP mode thanks to a special technology which combines nine pixels into one at the sensor level.”

And if you are into video, the new phones have you covered as well. You can not only capture 8K video but, thanks to Samsung’s ”Super Steady with anti-rolling” stabilization and AI motion analysis, you’ll capture video you never thought possible from a mobile device.

And, with up to 512GB and additional storage of up to 1TB his MicroSD, there’s plenty of room for your photos and video.

As you would expect, there are differences between each of the new models.

The Galaxy S20 has a 6.2” display, a 64MP rear camera, a 30 times zoom, and a 4000mAh battery.

The Galaxy S20+ has a 6.7” displays, a 64MP rear camera, a 30 times zoom and a 4500mAh battery.

Finally, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a huge 6.9” display, a whopping 108MP, an amazing 100 times zoom, and a huge 5000mAh.
