Pros

  • The Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is certified by Apple and charges MagSafe iPhones at 15W
  • The ability to charge my Apple Watch and AirPods as well saves me nightstand space

Cons

  • Apple Watch and iPhone pucks should be able to rotate up or down
  • The fabric material on the MagSafe connection shows wear and tear quickly
  • Adding a USB Type-C port would make this even more versatile

When I purchased my iPhone 12 Pro Max back in 2020, one of the highlighted features was the MagSafe Charging. I went out of my way to purchase Apple’s charging puck for it at an astounding $39, but unfortunately, the lack of a dock option made it less useful than I had hoped. To the rescue came the Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe 15W Charging.

I love this accessory so much I’ll put my conclusion right at the start. If you own an iPhone and an Apple Watch, you need the Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger, and that goes double if you also own AirPods or any other Qi-wireless compatible devices.

It cleans up your nightstand, can be taken with you when you travel, and it means you just need one cord to charge multiple devices!

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let me step back and tell you exactly what this thing can do.

Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger

The Belkin MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger is $149.99, which puts it at $20 more than Apple’s MagSafe Duo, but remember that you’re also picking up a 3rd charging option for the extra cost! Plus, you can get it in black or white, so your Belkin charger can match your Apple aesthetic or channel your inner goth — your choice.

Another thoughtful touch is using an LED for the AirPod/Qi charger area; it glows white when the devices are aligned on the pad and amber if it senses there’s a device, but it’s not charging.

On the downside, the MagSafe Charger portion will show wear and tear when you use it. I use a Nomad Leather case, which only took two charges before literally leaving an imprint on the charger itself. This was a bit annoying for me, and I wish there were a way to clean the fabric material covering the MagSafe charger.

Another quibble is that the physical Apple Watch and iPhone holders do not rotate in any other position. Sure, you can turn your iPhone sideways, and it will charge, but if you wanted to angle it higher or lower, you cannot.

The base itself is sturdy and the perfect size for not just my nightstand but my desk. If I could have added anything to make this dock even better, I would have added a USB-C port so I could also use it to charge my AirPods Max headphones.

Belkin worked with Apple and had to comply with specific standards to qualify to offer 15W faster MagSafe wireless charging. If having faster charging is the tradeoff for not having an extra charge port, it’s worthwhile.
