Peak Design Everyday Case for iPhone 15 Review: A Continued Legacy of Great Phone Cases

Peak Design, makers of high-quality backpacks, camera gear, and more, broke into the mobile phone case scene a couple of years ago with their Everyday Case, and they’re back at it again for the iPhone 15. A MagSafe-compatible case that balances protection and a slim profile really well, the Peak Design Everyday Case retails for $49.95 and comes in 4 colors.

It’s no secret that I’m a Peak Design fan, and they’ve continued their dominance in my eyes with the latest Everyday Case release for the iPhone 15. I’ve used a Peak Design Everyday Case on every iPhone since my iPhone 13 Pro Max and have appreciated the perfect balance of slimness, protection, and aesthetics.

I’ve always loved Peak Design’s signature nylon canvas fabric shell, which is waterproof and 100% recycled. The Peak Design Everyday Case is shown here in Charcoal but also comes in Midnight, Sage, Sun, and Redwood.

The Peak Design Everyday Case has a slim 2.4mm profile with a rubberized full-surround shock-absorbing bumper and a raised lip that protects the screen and camera lenses, which is a nice touch.

The case has been tested with a 6′ drop test, so it should provide enough protection unless you’re throwing it across the room or constantly dropping your phone.

I love that Peak Design has built their SlimLink connection system into their Everyday Case, which connects to all Peak Design Mobile mounts and accessories, which locks to some accessories magnetically and others mechanically.

The Peak Design Everyday Case is also compatible with MagSafe accessories, which is great for compatibility with many aftermarket chargers, stands, accessories, etc.

The Peak Design Everyday Case is also available in a Loop Case option, which provides a convenient deployable finger loop to increase your grip on the phone. The loop is magnetically held flush with the case, so it doesn’t add thickness to your pocket as a PopSocket would.

The loop can be flicked open with one finger, so it’s also easy to use. I love the Loop Case and used it throughout my time with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and while the Everyday Case with Loop retails for $59.95, the extra $10 it costs would be worth it to me!

Due to late design changes from Apple before the announcement of the iPhone 15, Peak Design was thrown for a loop with the Action Button, and the first batch of Everyday Cases was built with a cutout for the Action Button. Peak Design realized that it’s not a great user experience, so they’re giving early buyers options:

1. Get a free button fix kit and a $15 Peak Design credit. Peak’s engineers are still working on the button fix kit, and this option isn’t guaranteed. [That said, I appreciate Peak trying to be as earth-friendly as possible by offering a solution that doesn’t require a ton of shipping/trashing cases.]
2. Keep the case as-is and get a $40 Peak Design credit
3. Get a free replacement case (ETA mid-November)

I think the way Peak is handling this really shows their commitment to both their customers as well as their pledge to be kind to the Earth. This solution allows customers to get exactly what they want while providing some incentive to take more earth-friendly solutions. I love it. Peak Design was also kind enough to provide samples of two of their Everyday Case accessories, the $49.95 Slim Wallet and the $59.95 Stand Wallet. While I’m not a fan of these types of accessories because they make the phone thicker, and I have plenty of storage in my regular wallet, these are nice options for those who want to add some storage options to their mobile phone.

Both wallets attach to your phone magnetically and can be used with Everyday Cases, Universal Adapters, or MagSafe phones/cases. The Slim Wallet and the Stand Wallet come in 5 colors, including Charcoal, Midnight, Sage, Sun, and Redwood.

The Peak Design Stand Wallet is 8.5mm thick and can carry up to 7 cards. The nice thing about the Stand Wallet is that, as its name suggests, it can be flipped out and used as a phone stand as well as a wallet.

The Slim Wallet, on the other hand, cannot be used as a stand but can also carry up to 7 cards and is about 6mm thick.

I’ve been really impressed with Peak Design and their Everyday Case for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Yes, having an opening for the Action Button isn’t ideal, but I love the way Peak is handling the situation. I look forward to seeing the updated case later this year.

Otherwise, the Peak Design Everyday Case is flawless, in my opinion. It protects my phone well; I like the lip around the screen and camera lenses, and it works really well with MagSafe accessories. The magnet is super strong, so it feels secure.
