If you’ve ever tried dragging a clunky projector to your backyard, a campsite, or your best friend’s rooftop just to stream a movie, you already know it’s a vibe killer. Enter the XGIMI MoGo 4 Series. These two new pint-sized powerhouses, the MoGo 4 and the MoGo 4 Laser, are here to make portable entertainment feel like an experience, not a compromise. With big-screen visuals, rich audio, and a splash of style, they’re ready to transform your next movie night, pool party, or even that hotel wall into your own personal cinema.
Not Just Portable; It’s Actually Worth Carrying
You know how some projectors claim to be portable but are still shaped like a toaster? Not the XGIMI MoGo 4. This little guy is smaller than your average coffee tumbler and way more fun to show off. It fits in a tote and perches easily on a nightstand, looking sleek enough that you won’t mind leaving it out. With the built-in battery, you don’t even need to hunt for an outlet every time you want to watch something.
The MoGo 4 puts out a crisp 1080p Full HD picture with 450 ISO lumens, which means it can comfortably project up to 120″ without the image looking washed out or soft. That’s big enough to turn your backyard into a movie theater or blast your favorite YouTuber across your ceiling while you’re curled up in bed.
The premium XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser ups the ante with triple-laser projection technology, delivering 550 ISO lumens and a vibrant color range that covers 110% of the BT.2020 color space. If that number doesn’t mean much to you, just know this: it’s a wide palette that makes colors pop and look true-to-life, even when you’re projecting on less-than-ideal surfaces like textured walls or tents. It also features a 1000:1 contrast ratio, which provides much deeper blacks and more dynamic visuals in dark scenes.
Designed to Set the Mood, Not Just the Screen
Both versions of the MoGo 4 come with built-in Harman Kardon 6W speakers, and before you ask, yes, they sound great. The audio is 360 degrees, so no one ends up sitting in the quiet zone. You can also switch the projector into Ambient Speaker Mode, which turns it into a Bluetooth speaker complete with pulsing light effects that vibe with your music. Whether you’re hosting a chill sunset dinner on the patio or need a soundtrack while camping under the stars, this little box is doing more than just visuals.
And then there’s the flair. Each projector features a detachable lanyard, allowing you to carry it in style. The XGIMI MoGo 4 comes with a magnetic “Sunset” filter to cast a warm, golden glow across your room, ideal for winding down or setting the tone for a cozy hangout. But if you want options, you’re in luck. The MoGo 4 Laser features the full filter suite, including Ripple (a soft, wave-inspired effect), Dreamscape (for ethereal, shifting tones), and Lunar (a cool, moonlight blue that’s surprisingly calming).
Switching filters isn’t a hassle, either. Thanks to built-in gesture control, you can wave your hand in front of the lens to cycle through them. It’s equal parts high-tech and drama-free, with no digging through menus or hunting for buttons.
Smart Setup, Streamlined Experience
Nobody wants to fumble with settings or read a manual the size of a novella just to get a movie started. The XGIMI MoGo 4 Series takes care of the basics for you. It auto-corrects the image angle (keystone correction), straightens things out, and adjusts focus instantly when you change positions. You can rotate it 360 degrees for projecting on ceilings, floors, or any wall you’ve got handy. Want to pull it up and get started? The projector practically powers on as soon as you set it down, so setup feels more like flipping open a laptop than configuring technical gear.
The included mini infrared remote is refreshingly simple, compact, and actually intuitive. No one wants to wrestle with an app or scroll through twelve input sources just to open Netflix.
Speaking of Netflix, both projectors come with built-in Google TV, which means you’ve got access to all your favorite streaming services, including a legit, licensed Netflix app. Not some workaround. Add WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, HDMI ARC, and USB ports, and you’ve got the flexibility to hook up a gaming console, external drive, or even stream from your phone without any friction.
Extend the Fun with Accessories That Actually Make Sense
Just because the XGIMI MoGo 4 is small doesn’t mean it should run out of steam before the party ends. The optional PowerBase Stand attaches magnetically and adds up to 5 hours of video playback with its built-in 20,000mAh power bank. That’s double the battery life, and more than enough to binge a few episodes, watch a full-length movie (or two), and still have juice for a Spotify playlist while you wind down. Without the stand, the built-in battery lasts approximately 2.5 hours in Eco Mode or up to 6 hours when used solely as a speaker.
For the ultimate outdoor cinema experience, XGIMI also offers a 70″ Outdoor Screen. It’s lightweight, easy to set up in under a minute, and most importantly, it’s wrinkle-free. That means you won’t be watching your movie through a series of distracting fabric creases. And yes, it collapses down so you’re not lugging a giant piece of equipment to the park.
Who’s This For?
If you’re someone who’s constantly on the go, the XGIMI MoGo 4 makes a ton of sense. Maybe you live in a small apartment where space is at a premium, or you’re a frequent traveler who wants to turn hotel walls into a cozy entertainment hub. Perhaps you enjoy the idea of hosting low-effort backyard movie nights or projecting horror movies onto a sheet at your annual Halloween party. This is also a dream setup for van lifers, campers, or digital nomads who don’t want to compromise on screen size or quality just because they’re off the grid.
Parents will also love the MoGo 4 for kids’ rooms or family road trips. It’s easier than wrangling tablets, and you don’t have to worry about kids dropping it since it’s compact and durable. Teachers and creatives might use it for impromptu presentations or mood boards. And honestly, if you just want to elevate your space with a splash of ambiance and a solid sound system, this will fit the bill.
Pricing, Availability, and Launch Promo
The XGIMI MoGo 4 is priced at $499, while the XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser costs $799. Both are available now on XGIMI.com and Amazon. If you’re looking for a bundle, you can grab the MoGo 4 with the PowerBase Stand for $549, or opt for the complete package, including the MoGo 4 Laser, PowerBase Stand, and Outdoor Screen, for $899.
Between June 12 and July 12, 2025, XGIMI is offering 10% off all MoGo 4 and MoGo 4 Laser bundles, as well as standalone models. So, if you’re thinking about upgrading your summer entertainment setup, now’s the perfect moment to make it happen without paying full price.
The XGIMI MoGo 4 Series doesn’t just check the boxes on specs. It adds personality and versatility to a product category that’s too often clinical or underwhelming.
Whether you’re throwing a movie night, need a go-anywhere speaker, or want a projector that looks good even when it’s turned off, these little boxes of magic deliver. Just don’t be surprised if your friends start asking if they can borrow it and maybe keep it.

These are really compact projectors! With the stands, they kind of look like small telescopes.
That’s a really nice feature pack with the build in stand (and swivel) and the option to add a battery pack. These are so great for the ability to create a picture almost anywhere.
I like the idea of having this to bring on weekend trips for the hotel
These look so awesome – I’ve always wanted to try a portable projector!
I like that these projectors are small and very portable. I like that they have built in batteries so I do not need to be close to an electrical socket. This allows me to use the projectors at more locations even remote ones. I like that the projectors have built-in speakers that blast audio 360 degrees so everyone can hear. I also like that I can easily access most streaming sites to play videos. Great product!
