Segway isn’t playing around anymore. Sure, it made its name with those slow-rolling, upright personal transporters that mall cops and tourists love, but those days are long gone. Now, the brand has kicked things into overdrive with the introduction of the Segway SuperScooter GT3 Pro. Clocking in at just under 50 miles per hour and packed with more tech than a luxury car dashboard, this isn’t your average last-mile solution. It’s a high-speed, high-performance electric ride built for thrill-seekers, commuters who hate traffic, and anyone who secretly wants to feel like they’re in a sci-fi chase scene.
So What Makes This a SuperScooter?
The GT3 Pro is Segway’s latest addition to its GT Series, which first showed up in 2022 with the GT1 and GT2. Think of those earlier models as the opening act and the GT3 Pro as the headliner with all the pyro. It debuted at CES 2025, which was Segway’s not-so-subtle way of saying, “Hey, we’re serious about electric mobility.”
With dual 3,500-watt motors combining for 7,000 watts of maximum output, this SuperScooter isn’t just fast, it’s borderline feral. The Ultra Boost Mode takes you from zero to 30 mph in just 3.9 seconds. That’s enough to make your eyes water a little if you’re not ready. And it tops out at 49.7 mph, so you’ll want to leave the flip-flops at home.
If you’re worried about range, Segway’s done the math. The SuperScooter GT3 Pro uses a 2,160Wh battery running on an all-new 72-volt system, which isn’t just an upgrade from its older architecture; it’s what gives the scooter its extra bite. On a full charge, you’re looking at up to 86 miles of riding, though that depends on how hard you push it. Ride gently at 15.5 mph, and you’ll get those full 86 miles. Crank it up to 50 mph, and you’re more realistically in the 34-mile zone.
Power Meets Control Because Nobody Wants to Crash at 50 mph
Having all that speed is great until it’s time to stop. Fortunately, Segway isn’t trying to sell you an adrenaline rush without a brake pedal. The SuperScooter GT3 Pro comes equipped with dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes, slotted performance rotors, and a techy-sounding system called S-ABS, which pulses the brakes 25 times per second to help you stop quickly without skidding into the nearest bush.
There’s also selectable two-wheel drive, so you can let both motors work together for extra grip. And if you’re planning to carve corners like you’re in a video game, the scooter’s got Dynamic Traction Control to keep things glued to the pavement. The dual-coil suspension system, featuring a front linkage with adjustable compression and a rear swingarm, smooths out potholes and uneven terrain like a pro.
The tires are 11″ wide and self-sealing, which basically means they’re ready to take on sketchy pavement, loose gravel, or that one friend who never sees nails in the road until it’s too late.
Riding Smart: Tech Features You’ll Actually Use
Segway clearly wanted the SuperScooter GT3 Pro to feel as modern as it looks, and the onboard technology reflects that. It starts with SegRide Stability Enhancement, which sounds like a buzzword until you actually feel the difference in balance and handling at high speeds. The geometry and ergonomics have been fine-tuned, and that translates into a smoother, less twitchy ride even when you’re pushing the scooter to its limits.
Up front, you’ll find a full-color 2.4″ TFT display that handles more than just speed and battery info. It also offers turn-by-turn navigation, ride stats, Bluetooth pairing, call notifications, and range estimates. It’s like having a dashboard borrowed from an electric sports car, just in scooter form.
There’s also AirLock hands-free unlocking, which lets you walk up to your SuperScooter GT3 Pro and hop on without fumbling for keys. And yes, it’s compatible with Apple’s Find My feature, so if it disappears from where you parked it, you’ll have a better shot at tracking it down before it vanishes into scooter black market oblivion.
Segway has also rolled out an updated battery management system, known as BMS 2.0. It’s a behind-the-scenes upgrade that quietly handles temperature control, charge optimization, and safety features. You won’t see it working, but you’ll definitely notice when your scooter doesn’t overheat or leave you stranded with a dead battery.
Visibility, Weather, and Everything Else That Matters
Segway hasn’t forgotten the small (but important) stuff. For nighttime rides, the SuperScooter GT3 Pro includes a 14-watt automatic headlight with high and low beams. Front and rear turn signals plus a brake light make sure you’re visible from every angle, which is crucial when you’re zipping past cars that might not expect a scooter to move like this.
It’s also IPX6 water resistant, which means splashes, puddles, and light rain shouldn’t scare you, or short anything out. Just don’t confuse that with being fully waterproof. It’s a scooter, not a submarine.
Ground clearance sits at 5.7″, which might not sound like much until you consider the terrain you’ll likely cover on city streets and occasional trails. The total weight is 117 pounds, so don’t expect to carry it up a flight of stairs unless you’re training for a strongman competition. It can carry up to 331 pounds, which covers most riders and then some, plus a backpack, groceries, or whatever else you’re hauling.
Who Is This For?
The Segway SuperScooter GT3 Pro is not your grandma’s mobility scooter, unless she’s got a need for speed and a fondness for tech. It’s built for someone who wants to commute in style and skip the gridlock, or maybe for someone who misses their motorcycle days but wants a cleaner, quieter ride. If you’re a delivery rider looking for a faster way to navigate the urban jungle, this scooter could absolutely earn its keep. Or maybe you’re just someone who wants to make every errand feel like a high-stakes race against the clock. No judgment here.
That said, this isn’t a toy for teens. It’s fast, powerful, and designed for responsible riders who understand the value of full-face helmets and decent braking distances. At $2,699.99, it’s also a significant investment, though it’s arguably a bargain when compared to electric motorcycles or high-end e-bikes with similar performance.
What’s Next for Segway?
The SuperScooter GT3 Pro signals that Segway isn’t content to be known for quirky people movers and rental fleets. The company is clearly aiming for the performance market and those who take personal mobility seriously. This is the kind of scooter that turns heads, not because it’s cute or clever, but because it sounds like a jet engine when you hit the throttle and it handles like it’s auditioning for a Fast & Furious spinoff.
Segway has now carved out a space where scooters are more than just something you rent for 20 minutes on vacation. They’re practical, bold, and if you’ve got the nerve, a whole lot of fun. You can learn more about it here.
The Segway SuperScooter GT3 Pro will be available starting August 12 through the brand’s online store and its authorized dealers.
Whether you’re hunting for a faster commute or a weekend thrill machine, this scooter just might have what you’re looking for. Just make sure your reflexes are as sharp as its acceleration!

The kids have wanted a scooter for a long time. This one looks great.
Hospital visit waiting to happen … but it sure looks like fun and has a lot of features that make riding it smoother and safer. Also be great to take on the road for camping and such.
Wow, very cool… except the price) Would be nice to try it.
It looks like Segway got a glow up. The new Segway scooter is impressive. I like that it can go from 0 to 30 mph in just a few seconds. This can be helpful if I am late for a meeting or if there is an emergency and I need to get somewhere quick. I like that the scooter has a navigation system. This would help prevent me from getting lost. I also like that the scooter can be tracked in case of theft. I live in a big city that has a lot of vehicular traffic that often slows everyone down. I can definitely see myself using this scooter for a faster commute.
