Fifty lumens is a useful all-purpose level, and 150 lumens is plenty for a quick burst of light in a dark indoor space.

The side lights add a lot of flexibility. A double-click changes between lighting modes, and the side white lights offer a low 10-lumen setting, a brighter 80-lumen setting, and a heartbeat-style pulse. The side lighting creates a more spread-out glow than the front flashlight, so it is better for nearby tasks and area lighting.

I tested the Wuben E2 Pulse flashlight in a real-world situation by turning off the lights and looking down a dark stairwell. This is exactly the kind of scenario where a tiny flashlight like this is useful. If the power goes out, you probably are not looking to light up an entire house. You just need enough light to safely make it down the stairs, find a fuse box, locate a larger flashlight, or avoid stepping on something you would rather not step on.

On low, the Wuben E2 Pulse provides modest light, but enough to make out the immediate area. Medium offers a practical balance for navigating an indoor space, and high provides the most visibility when you need it quickly. Even though this little flashlight does not have a turbo mode, the 150-lumen high setting is more than capable of lighting a stairway or illuminating a room long enough to handle a quick task.

The front beam is best for pointing at something specific. If you drop an item behind furniture, need to inspect a cable connection, or want to see a path ahead of you, use that mode. The side light is better when you want a broader area of light close to you.

There is a difference between a flashlight that is useful and a flashlight that is useful all the time. The Wuben E2 Pulse is in the first category because it is small enough to keep nearby without thinking about it. Final Thoughts

It is light, rechargeable, magnetic, glow-in-the-dark (for a very short time), and capable of providing front, side, red, and blue lighting. For an EDC flashlight, that is a lot of versatility.

The biggest caveat is battery capacity. This is a tiny flashlight, so it has a tiny battery. You only get the full 150-lumen output briefly before it steps down, and this is not the light you would use to find your way out of the woods after seven hours of walking in the dark. That is not a knock against it, though. It is just important to understand what this flashlight is designed to do.
