One of the most important accessories I carry day in and day out is the Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 3G and 3GS. ($79.95) It is light, doubles as a protective case, and its 1200 mAh battery adds up to 270 hours of standby time, for 4.5 hours of talk time (on 3G) and more. It is a great accessory to keep around, especially on days such as today, when I will be out and about for the next 12 to 14 hours. There is, however, one problem with the case/battery- it adds just enough bulk and weight but I don’t always want to carry it in my pocket the way I would the iPhone in something like the Agent18 SlimShield.

That is where Mophie’s new Hip Holster 6000 for Mophie Juice Pack comes in rather handy. I was recently sent a review sample, so let’s take a look —

My Thoughts-

I’m not a huge hip-holster kind of guy. I tend to prefer the thinnest, lightest case possible and then keep my iPhone in my pocket.

That isn’t so practical with the Mophie on the iPhone, however, and this is a simple, practical solution to that problem.

The case is made from nice leather and fit and finish are what you would expect from a company like Mophie- excellent. The back of the holster has a belt clip. It does not rotate or lock over your belt, but it does look like it will hold up quite well.

The iPhone can go in the holster face out…

Or face in…

The iPhone is held inside by a magnetically secured cover. Once there it isn’t going anywhere!

In all the Mophie Hip Holster 6000 for Mophie Juice Pack is a good solution if you use any Mophie battery on a daily basis. It does what it says and does so with excellent quality and at a reasonable price.

What I Like: Holds iPhone and Mophie battery securely, good materials and finish

What Needs Improvement: I would like to see the clip ratchet in either direction and clip more securely to a belt. These are small concerns however.

You can order the Hip Holster 6000 for Mophie Juice Pack  directly from Mophie for an MSRP of $29.95.
