Pimp Your Screen – Your Device Never Looked Cooler for iPhone/Touch and iPad

We all know that iOS is not the king of customization, but sometimes a little change is a breath of fresh air. I have been through the jailbreak stage with plenty of themes and fancy alternate icons, each time causing my phone to become deathly slow. About the only way iOS users can set their devices apart is through custom lock screens and backgrounds. It is fun to have some pictures of my kids or a cool Apple background, but it still is not exactly custom. As I scoured the app store this week I came across a little gem that lets you change the devices to appear to be customized. Pimp Your Screen-Your Device Never Looked Cooler is a collection of options to give that boring home screen or lock screen a new appearance.

* Lock Screen Maker

Bring some color and glow into your everyday life and change the look of your device every single day. It’s time to Pimp Your Screen!

I am aware that this is simply a collection of background pictures that give the illusion of putting icons on shelve or being wrapped in colors. Similar photos can be found in various places and applications. What I like most about Pimp Your Screen is the fact that there are hundreds of options in one location. The application is easy to navigate and the different pictures are separated by App Shelves, Icon Skins, Home Screen Maker and Lock Screen Maker. Each section is easy to navigate and allows the user to save the picture to be assigned from the photo album.

One unique feature to this app is the ability to create custom home screen and lock screen images. Using a large number of possible photos, it is easy to overlay frames, shelves and even calendars to make the images how you like. Images from the photo album are also useable for the customizations, so the options are literally endless. To help narrow choices, the app offers tabs for recent and popular options. It truly is a great way to customize the look of your iOS devices, especially since it is a universal app. All of this can be found here in the app store for a mere $.99.

What I like: Hundreds of customization options to change the appearance of all of my iOS devices.

What could be improved: It would be nice to see some further grouping such as Holiday or sports, etc…

GroupShot solves a common problem found in group photos, namely one person who isn’t facing the camera or whose expression doesn’t fit the rest of the group.
Usually people take several shots of group photos, with the hope that one will be perfect.
With GroupShot, users can pick and choose parts of each photo, then combine all the parts to create the perfect shot that looks exactly the same.

The usage is incredibly simple. All you need to do is to load your images, mark the parts you wish to replace, and choose the best option from the rest of the set.

GroupShot is very easy to use and requires no technical knowledge.
