You may have noticed over the last year or so that we have sprinkled an increasing number of fitness related posts and tips throughout Gear Diary. All of us have an interest and have taken active steps toward becoming healthier, and we want to share more of these experiences with our readers. Too often, people say it is too expensive or complicated to get, and stay, healthy. The truth is, if you know where to shop, what steps to take, and what ingredients to keep on hand it really isn’t. In fact, it is not only easy, but eating and living better can actually save you money in the process. That’s where we come in!
In the coming weeks you will see more health and fitness posts than ever. We’ll have a different health tip, product suggestion, healthy recipe, and more on most days during the week! And to help us we’ve brought in someone who live, breathes (and eats) health and fitness– Elana, a certified personal trainer and owner of Live Fit, LLC. Here’s a bit about her.
Elana Cohen is a certified personal trainer and nutritional consultant. A diet and exercise success story herself, Elana now shares her passion with others. Elana specializes in cooking for food allergies and dietary restrictions, an expertise that arose from both personal need and formal training.
Elana is certified through AAAI/ISMA and is a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. She holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and has extensive experience in both the non-profit and profit sectors.
We are looking forward to sharing Elana’s expertise and suggestions, and hope you enjoy her tips as much as we do!
I can’t wait to see all of the great stuff. I have been on my own journey this year, and chatting with Elana over Gear Fest was fantastic. So much of what I heard/learned way back nearly 25 years ago when I first lost weight just isn’t true anymore so it is great to get set for success!
I’m excited too. And, yeah, Elana knows a ton… and then some. She is so pationate about this and she truly practices what she teaches. Sometimes I wonder if she even realizes how much she knows!
