After attending the Windows Phone launch event last Monday, I came away with an idea of which new devices I would most enjoy using, and my first choice was the Nokia Lumia 920. I’ve got an HTC 8X in hand (review coming soon), and now we have solid availability information from AT&T.
Today, Nokia has announced that the “highly anticipated Lumia 920 flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be available exclusively through AT&T at a price of $99.99 with a new two-year contract, available on November 9th with preorders beginning November 7th. For a limited time and while supplies last, AT&T will also include a wireless charging plate – free of charge – with each purchase of a Lumia 920. In addition, the Lumia 820 will be available through AT&T for $49.99 with a new two-year contract, also available on November 9th with preorders beginning November 7th.”
The Nokia Lumia 920 features Nokia’s patented PureView technology with excellent low-light camera performance and fun Cinemagraph features as well as the ultimate standard in location and mapping services with Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, Nokia Transit, Nokia City Lens and more. This device represents Nokia’s dedication to location and imaging technology with the speed and personal experience of the Windows Phone 8 platform. The Lumia 920 comes in yellow, red, grey, white and black.
The Nokia Lumia 820 is a stylish, mid-range smartphone that delivers high-end performance in a compact package. While the Nokia Lumia 820 has the same unibody look and feel as the Lumia 920, it comes with an exchangeable shell design. Exchangeable shells not only make it possible to select from a range of colors, but also to add wireless charging.
Also worth noting is that the HTC 8X Windows Phone will be available in two models: California Blue with 16 GB of memory for $199.99 and an AT&T exclusive in California Blue or Limelight (yellow) with 8GB of memory for $99.99.
AT&T will also be the only carrier selling the new Windows 8 tablets …
Samsung ATIV smart PC offers customers the blend of PC capability with the convenient tablet form factor. Beginning Nov. 9, the ATIV smart PC will be available in AT&T company-owned retail stores nationwide and online at www.wireless.att.com.
Are you thinking about a new Windows Phone or a new Windows 8 tablet?
Would love to get a 720p Windows Phone 8 device, but these pathetic capacities are killing it for me!
I know! It is tough to get excited about 16 or even 32GB memory with no expansion memory possible. Hopefully that will eventually come, but it seems like by the time WP hits 64GB, iPhone will be 128GB. =P
Yeah – the storage isn’t great, but I like a lot of the other specs. And it looks like even the no commitment price (from AT&T) seems reasonable!
ATT is showing Teal as a color, not grey. I wonder what’s up?
I could deal with 32GB, but my 64GB iPhone is always 90% full. I’ve gotten so used to being able to load it up with media for several weeks worth of viewing.
