If you have one of the new Google Nexus 7 2013 tablets, then you know how small and light the device is. You also low that it has a gorgeous screen that is fantastic for reading and equally good for viewing video. And while you’ll want to bring the tablet pretty much everywhere, you’ll also want — no, you’ll need — to keep it as protected as possible.
As we brought word last week, Waterfield is already offering a number of sleeves and cases for the latest Nexus device. We were sent a few for review, and we thought we would begin with the simplest and least expensive of the bunch — the Waterfield Suede Jacket Sleeve.
The Waterfield Suede Jacket Sleeve is a simple pouch that is constructed from quality materials; it does exactly what it promises.
Made from suede, there is just enough stretch to the material for it to give the Nexus 7 a snug fit. And because it is made from suede, it will gently wipe your tablet clean as you insert and remove the device.
While they certainly are not necessary, the side and bottom tabs are a nice addition that make it easier to insert and remove the device.
For $6 more, you can add an elasticized pocket along the entirety of the pouch’s back. Sure that’s almost half again the actual cost of the Suede Jacket Sleeve, but the added storage is actually a nice convenience.
If you aren’t looking for a pouch that will offer substantial drop protection and, instead, you prefer something that will be thin, light, and keep the Nexus 7 2013 screen pristine, then the Waterfield Suede Jacket Sleeve is the way to go. You can learn more and order yours.
MSRP: $19, an addition $6 if you want to add the pocket
What I Like: Simple; Offers nice scratch protection; Side and bottom tabs make it easier to insert and remove the tablet
