Booq is one of those companies that, time and again, serves up bags, backpacks and sleeves that impress with both their design and their features. The new Booq Cobra pack is no exception. At $295 it is a pricey backpack but it promises to hold a ton of gear and serve you for years to come. The backpack is made from 1680 denier ballistic nylon exterior with water-repellent coating. That means it will keep all the items inside safe from the elements outside. Exterior protect isn’t all there is to keeping your gear safe and Booq knows it. That’s why a smooth interior quilted lining wraps everything stowed in the backpack and keeps it safe from harm.
The backpack features a main compartment with two open pockets and a slip pocket. The latter is good for keeping a favorite magazine handy or, if you take notes the old fashioned way, a tablet of paper ready for your next meeting. The bag also has a zippered mesh window pocket for passports, tickets and important items. It is positioned in such a manner as to keep them both accessible AND secure. Built to hold a 15″-17″ laptop, the Cobra pack Backpack has a separate, densely padded laptop compartment with a YKK water resistant zipper for extra protection. A second zippered pocket holds your tablet.
Since the Booq Cobra pack is a backpack the design of the straps is important. It has an ergonomically designed shoulder strap system with three different adjustment points. The shoulder straps include two pockets that are perfect for keeping most smartphones or music players handy. Rounding out the features are airmesh back padding, two zippered side pockets for water bottles or an umbrella and a front zipper pocket that is perfect for a frequently used notebook.
As the company explains,
A bag is an extension of a one’s personality and style. The Booq Cobra pack makes an impression – clean lines, leather trims, a flash of color on the interior all hinting at the professionalism of a brief while delivering high-end, original style. Best of all, booq keeps function on par with design, so the Cobra pack not only looks good, but it also delivers ultimate protection, storage solutions and comfort.
At just under $300 it is a pricey backpack but, since it comes from Booq, you can figure it will serve you for years and years to come.
I think I need this one. 😉
