OtterBox Alpha Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Review

Have you got a Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Have you proven yourself to be a bit of a butter fingers? If so, then you’ll want to consider covering that gorgeous screen with one of the best tempered protectors available — the OtterBox Alpha Glass fortified glass screen protector.

Included in the kit are the protector, a cleaning wipe, a small microfiber cloth, and a bit of paperwork.

Application is a cinch: use the wipe to clean the Note 4’s screen, peel the “step 1” protective coating off the sticky side of the glass screen protector, and then align the screen protector with the Home button and the ear speaker. I find that it is easiest to do this by holding each end of the protector with my fingertips, aligning the protector as I lower it onto the screen. The next thing I do is run a credit card over the protector to force out any bubbles before peeling off the last “step 2” protective layer.

Once the Alpha Glass screen protector is installed, you get the same slick-surfaced clarity that you have with a naked screen, but there is now a layer of protective glass to help with face-down falls and scratches due to loose items in your bag or sand.

Features:

  • Fortified screen shield with anti-shatter technology guards Galaxy Note 4 with protection you can’t see
  • Brilliant display clarity worthy of protecting your Galaxy Note 4
  • Galaxy Note 4 screen protector with reactive-touch technology reacts as quickly as you do — game on
  • Available in Clear or Privacy
  • Comes in sizes to fit your Note 4 with or without an OtterBox case

There are those who will argue that Gorilla Glass 4, which is what the Samsung Note 4’s screen is made of, doesn’t need this type of babying; look, I get it. Gorilla Glass 4 is thinner, lighter, and it is reported to be twice as strong as Gorilla Glass 3 … and yet I still feel more comfortable carrying such a large-screened phone with a screen protector installed.

If you are comfortable with not putting a protector on your device’s screen, that’s your business. I have been known to send my phones and phablets flying across and onto various hard surfaces, so I get a little bit anxious just thinking about a naked phablet screen; having the OtterBox Alpha Glass installed alleviates that.

The OtterBox Alpha Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 4  retails for $34.99 (just $5 more for the privacy glass version), and it is available directly from the manufacturer and from other retailers.
