One thing that I’ve always hated when it comes to external battery packs is their bulky size when it comes to actually putting it in my pocket when on the go. Luckily when Mogix sent over two of their slim external battery chargers, I found my new favorite way to keep my phones charged up.
Mogix Accessories sent over two models of their battery pack, the 5000mAh, and the Slim fit 10,400mAh units. Now first off, can I just say, carrying around an iPhone 6 Plus, anything less than 3500mAh I won’t even bother to use as a battery pack, and if I’m out for a night on the town, I’m attempting to go for the largest size possible. So I went for the 10,400mAh unit.
Weighing in at less than 7 ounces, the 10,000mAh ($22.99) is easily more compact than it’s competitors, and it has TWO output ports so you can not only charge up your iPhone, but you can even charge up your iPad, Android Tablet and smartphone, anything that needs a charge. For emphasis, I helped a friend move their home on a Sunday afternoon (in the midst of NFL Sunday), so I needed something that will keep my phone above 80% at all times (because I’m quite the stickler for not letting my phone drop past a certain percentage when I go out).
The slim profile of the 10,400mAh unit easily sat in my back pocket with my phone as I moved box after box, and I barely felt it sitting right there in my pocket. While I wish that the charger did come with it’s own integrated cables, I did have a cable that worked fine in my Incharge keychain which I will review a bit later.
The 5000mAh battery charger is perfect for someone who might be out on the town one night and just needs to charge their iPhone 6 up a little bit. At the size of a candy bar, the 5000Ah will only set you back $18, and it’ll easily charge your iPhone or Galaxy close to two times. Also there’s no strange button to press, as it’s auto-on/off feature acknowledges when your phone is unplugged or when it’s fully charged, which is ideal when you forget to check to see if your phone is at 100% and still connected, thus wasting battery for the Mogix chargers.
Overall, both chargers are excellent, and at the price you simply can’t beat them. They are virtually weightless and you can easily throw it in your pocket or a purse, and you won’t look ridiculous when sitting at a bar.
