The Nokia 3310 Goes Back to the Basics

The Nokia 3310 was a phone with an iconic look that was as striking as it was simple. Now Nokia has brought it back- at least from an anesthetic perspective. As they put it, the 2017 Nokia 3310 is “A modern classic reimagined.” If you love retro gear you are going to love this phone.

Key to the design of the new Nokia 3310 is the fact that it has a battery that offers standby time of up to a month. Add in your choice of four different vibrant colors and the ability to play a classic game when you need a break and you have something special.

The rounded form was one of the things that made the Nokia 3310 immediately identifiable. The reimagined 3310 draws its inspiration from this iconic rounded form. As Nokia explains:

The new Nokia 3310 takes the iconic silhouette of the original and reimagines it for 2017. The custom designed user interface brings a fresh look to a classic, whilst the 2.4” polarized and curved screen window makes for better readability in sunlight.

Because that 3310 is more “basic” than “smart” it’s battery packs a punch. You’ll get up to a month of standby time and all day talk time. The means it is not only a great basic phone but also a fantastic backup for anyone who needs to know they can always make a call. And since this is the 2017 Nokia 3310, when you need to charge it you can use the ubiquitous Micro-USB port that has replaced the proprietary charger on the original 3310.

Then there is Snake. Snake was to phone-gaming what Pac-Man was to console-gaming. It was THE way to kill time with a phone before the days of the App Store. The 2017 3310 has Snake but with a bit of an update and color. If you get the 3310 be prepared to get sucked into one of the greatest time-sucks of all time!
