Since getting my iPhone X, I’ve gone all in on wireless charging. I have wireless chargers around my house and at work. I even carry an external battery with wireless charging. Raina, however, still has a phone that needs traditional charging. That’s where the Ventev powercell 6010+ backup battery comes in; it is simple but it gets the job done.

This 6,000 mAh battery is small, thin and tough. It is light enough for her to carry everywhere and has a battery large enough to keep her iPhone 7 going all day, night and beyond. The soft touch material used in its case makes it comfortable to hold and prevents the battery from becoming a fingerprint magnet.

External batteries aren’t all that exciting. Still, over the last few years, we’ve seen some great features added to many of them. This external battery has two of the main features that help make this a battery pack that is as convenient as it is simple to use.

The first standout feature is the inclusion of folding AC prongs.

The prongs mean the battery maintains its small, thin design but when in need of charging, fold out and let you recharge it by simply plugging it into a wall outlet. That feature alone is fantastic, but this external battery goes one step further by adding a micro USB port for wired charging as well.

The second standout feature is an included Lightning connector for charging an iPhone or iPad. This features means you don’t need to carry a second cable to charge your Apple mobile device.

Thankfully, Ventev also saw their way to also include a legacy USB-A port. This is not, however, just any USB-A port. It includes fast charging so you can be up and mobile again as quickly as possible. It delivers a total output of 12W so you can get your devices charged quickly and easily.

Of course, the battery also has an on/off button and four LEDs that indicate how much of a charge is left.

As Ventev explains:

The Ventev powercell 6010+ is a combination portable battery and wall charger in one device. Featuring an Apple Lightning™ cable along with folding AC prongs, the powercell 6010+ can charge two devices at once with a total output of 12W (5V, 2.4A). With its slim, compact design, the powercell 6010+ is the perfect portable power solution.

Features:

  • 6000mAh battery recharge time: 4-5 hours
  • Charges 1 tablet or 2 smartphones
  • Input: 100-240 or Micro USB 10W (5V, 2A)
  • Output: 12W (5V, 2.4A) total
  • Charges a device up to 2X for 25 hours of talk and +20 hours of browse

I love the wireless external batteries I keep in my bag these days. If, however, you don’t want or can’t use a wireless external battery, or you want something that delivers serious power without breaking the bank, the Ventev Powercell 6010+ backup battery is a great option. It has quickly become the external battery Raina keeps in her purse. Check it out here.
