JBL makes amazing home sound systems, but they also know how to shrink that experience down to a portable one in both speaker and headphone forms. They have a new and exciting slate of devices coming out in 2023, so let’s dive in!
JBL Tour Pro 2 True Wireless Earbuds
The JBL Tour Pro 2 True Wireless Earbuds have a pretty neat trick tucked away in their charging case. Sure, you get the JBL sound experience where you can optimize the ANC via the JBL app, up to 40 hours of playtime, and IPX5 water resistance.
But their charging case has an added bonus — a 1.45″ LCD screen that lets you answer calls, manage your music, and even see notifications — all without having to pull out your phone!
It may sound like a gimmick, but imagine being able to work distraction-free in a library or coffee shop, where you might not want to have your phone out due to distractions and still be able to see if that important message or call came through.
The JBL Tour Pro 2 True Wireless Earbuds are expected this spring for $249.95.
JBL Tour ONE M2
Some people prefer an over-the-ear headphone experience. Luckily, JBL has you covered there with the JBL Tour ONE M2, which features True Adaptive ANC and JBL Pro-tuned drivers.
The adaptive tech means the noise-canceling will adjust to your surroundings, plus Smart Talk will also react to voice commands and pause the music or enable Ambient Aware when needed. And the JBL Tour ONE M2 will keep you rocking for a long time, with 50 hours of playtime (30 with ANC).
Look good and sound good this spring for $299.95.
JBL True Wireless Earbuds
Maybe you’re out there pushing your physical limits, and you need headphones that can keep up. Have no fear because the JBL Endurance Peak 3 offers an IP68 rating and protection against waves, water, and dust. JBL says these can even last in 30 minutes of active use in both fresh and salt water, which almost definitely ensures they can survive your gym workout.
JBL also recognizes that fit is extra important in these headphones, so they sport JBL’s PowerHook with TwistLock to ensure they stay comfortably where they belong. And Ambient Aware means you can pop these in for a run and still hear what’s going on around you. Look for them in February for $99.95.
JBL didn’t forget about regular true wireless headphones, though! The JBL Tune Series has three new entrants: JBL TUNE Buds, JBL TUNE Flex, and JBL TUNE Beam. All three offer active noise cancellation with Smart Ambient technology, with the main difference being their specific shapes.
Buds are, naturally, bud shaped; the TUNE Beam are stick-style with a more ergonomic fit and a closed type for more sound sealing, and the TUNE Flex are a stick type with an open style. All three models will retail for $99.95 in either black, blue, or white in June.
Similarly, the JBL Vibe series comes in VIBE Buds, VIBE Beam, and VIBE Flex, which will offer bud and stick style options.
Look for these in February in black and white, from $49.95 to $69.95.
JBL Portable Speakers
JBL Go and Clip speakers are as close as you can get to iconic portable speakers. Now they’re going to be powerful, portable, and eco-friendly! JBL says the new versions will use 90% post-consumer recycled plastic and 100% recycled fabric, with eco-friendly packaging that is free of plastic. JBL Go 3 Eco is ultra-portable with 5 hours of playtime on one charge, while JBL Clip 4 Eco offers 10 hours and an integrated carabiner.
Look for them in Forest Green, Ocean Blue, and Cloud White on Earth day for $49.95 for the Go 3 and $79.95 for the Clip 4.
When you’re looking for a way to hang out and bring music and fun vibes, you want the JBL Pulse 5. It offers up to 12 hours of playtime on one charge with an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating, so you can hang out from your backyard to the top of a mountain.
It also offers a 360° immersive sound experience, plus the ambient light show that syncs with your music. If you know anyone else with a Pulse 4 or 5, they can partner up for the PartyBoost feature, creating more lights and expanding the sound experience.
Bright lights and good music can be yours for $249.95 this spring.
JBL Quantum Gaming Audio
Gaming is not just about visuals but also the immersive audio experience you get from really experiencing the music. Would Super Mario be the same without the iconic “doot doot doot, dootdootdoot”? Exactly. So JBL has a slate of headphones to level up your game!
JBL Quantum TWS Air have JBL QuantumSURROUND and can be used with both a PC and phone at the same time, thanks to a dongle that gives them a wire-free gaming experience. There are four microphones, so your team will never miss your instructions in between enjoying the soundtrack.
Look for them this summer for $99.95.
Sometimes you need to tap directly into your console, and that’s where the JBL Quantum 910X and JBL Quantum 910P are swooping in to bring that extra boost to your XBOX, Switch, PC, and Playstation. They feature JBL QuantumSPATIAL 360 audio with integrated head tracking, which means the spatial sound will follow your head position, making the game feel even more immersive and realistic.
They also have active noise cancellation, so you can legitimately say you didn’t hear that request to fold your laundry. Total immersion to total victory can be yours for $299.95.
If that’s a little too rich for your budget, that’s ok. JBL Quantum 360X and JBL Quantum 360P will offer DualSOURCE two device connections and up to 22 hours of battery life for $129.95. And if you’re looking to just get started in the gaming headphone space, the JBL Quantum 100X/100P are great options for only $39.95.
All the Quantum X and P headphones are expected in March 2023.
This is quite a variety of new products that JBL is coming out with. The screen on the charging case is quite novel, though I wonder how much it adds to the cost, since not everyone would want it (such as many people with smart watches.)
A great variety of products! I’d like to test some of them out – especially the JBL Clip 4 Eco.
I like the speaker idea, especially after wearing ear buds for a long time.
