Cons
Let me tell you something clearly: the Peak Design Everyday Backpack is my favorite backpack ever. It has been my daily commuting backpack for years, and it’s only gotten better in my eyes thanks to the new Coyote X-Pac fabric option. This version features X-Pac VX-21 Ocean Edition fabric, a high-performance material originally designed as sailcloth, now reimagined with a 100% recycled twist—it is crafted entirely from reclaimed fishing nets.
Not only can you feel good about your Peak Design Everyday Backpack being made from recycled materials, but that X-Pac VX-21 fabric is extremely lightweight and durable.
It utilizes multilayer lamination construction and contains a diamond-patterned post-consumer recycled polyester thread called X-PLY, which allows the bag to feel smooth and crisp over the bag’s life with excellent durability and, you guessed it, waterproofing and sustainability. The X-Pac fabric is also proudly made in the USA.
We’ve previously reviewed the Peak Design Everyday Backpack, and I remain absolutely impressed with the painstaking care they take in each and every detail, from the adjustable sternum strap to the anchor link key tether to the included FlexFold dividers.
The Everyday Backpack features unique MagLatch hardware, which provides super-fast access to the top of the backpack’s main compartment. Two side compartments can be accessed using weatherproof UltraZips.
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack in Coyote X-Pac Fabric is available in 20L and 30L; each version has a dedicated laptop sleeve for up to 15” laptops or a 16” MacBook Pro along with a tablet, documents, etc.
The main compartment can be configured and reconfigured to create multiple pockets for storage, ensuring your gear stays organized and not bunched up at the bottom of your bag. The padded shoulder straps feel comfortable for long periods and have a hinge at the top, allowing for a lot of movement.
As I said at the beginning of this review, the Peak Design Everyday Backpack is my favorite backpack ever. The recycled, durable X-Pac fabric has only increased my appreciation for this bag.
I use it daily to and from work, and it’s been perfect for my needs. I have the 30L version, and there’s plenty of room for my 16” laptop, my lunch, and all the other crap I need to drag with me.
As always, the MagLatch is super easy to use, and the side pockets allow quick and easy access while the bag is still on my shoulder.
Peak Design was also kind enough to send one of their Wash Pouches (available in two sizes with prices starting at $54.95) in the matching Coyote fabric for review, and I really enjoyed using it on a family trip this past Fall.
This toiletry bag is, as advertised, a perfect balance between simplicity and thoughtful design. It’s large enough to fit all of your toiletries for a week-long trip while being compact enough to fit in any bag, whether backpack, carry-on, or checked bag.
The Wash Pouch features a thick #8 weatherproof UltraZip to open and close the bag. The design allows you to keep the back wide open when in use so you can see all of your toiletries.
Thanks to its proprietary abrasion-resistant thread, the UltraZip is designed to withstand decades of use. The Wash Pouch sits upright on a counter or hangs via a stowable aluminum hook, a really appreciated feature on a dopp kit.
On the inside of the bag, a network of TP-coated nylon mesh pockets, internal zippered pockets, and a magnetically sealed toothbrush pocket keeps everything organized and clean.
There’s also an external zip pocket designed for a razor or similar items. Not only that, but all the pockets can also be turned inside out for deep cleaning.
The regular-sized Peak Design Wash Pouch holds about 2.5L and weighs about 8.7oz. It retails for $64.95, which is a great deal for such a functional and durable bag meant for a lifetime of travel. I really enjoyed using it, as it held everything I needed for a family trip and then some. Plus, it was really easy to use, either hanging up or lying on the counter. It’s extremely functional.
The Peak Design Everyday Backpack continues to impress with its thoughtful design, exceptional durability, and now, thanks to the Coyote X-Pac fabric, an eco-conscious edge. Whether commuting daily, traveling, or organizing your gear, this bag delivers functionality and style in equal measure. For those seeking a long-lasting, weatherproof, and stylish backpack with an environmentally friendly touch, the Peak Design Everyday Backpack is hard to beat.
