Portable PC Gaming Redefined with the Acer Nitro Blaze 8, Nitro Blaze 11, and Mobile Gaming Controller

One of the coolest things about how technology has become smaller and more portable is that we’re seeing an increasing number of super-powerful gaming devices that can go anywhere. Acer knows your gaming hardware matters, and they’re rolling out two new consoles and a controller to keep you rocking, rolling, and fragging away!

The Acer Nitro Blaze Handheld devices put PC gaming on the go for you. They’re releasing two portables, Nitro Blaze 8 with an 8.8″ screen and Nitro Blaze 11 rocking a 10.95″ screen.

Nitro is more than just a marketing name. AMD Ryzen 78840HS processors power these with Ryzen AI. They also include AMD Radeon 780M graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage. No matter your game of choice, it’ll zip along quickly!

Both Nitro devices feature DTS:X Ultra Audio and Hall Effect triggers and sticks for longevity and accuracy. Nitro Blaze 11 also features detachable controllers, a built-in stand, and even a front camera for video conferencing, so you can “work” while also racking up gaming achievements.

On the software side, the Acer Game Space application has a dedicated button for managing your game library. Acer also includes three months of PC Game Pass, which includes titles like Call of DutyIndiana Jones, and EA Play games.

If you’re not interested in a full gaming console and content with your phone’s gaming, Acer also has the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller. It’s compatible with iOS and Android devices with USB-C connectivity and has an adjustable design that fits devices up to 8.3″, so you’re good even if your phablet has a case. Plus, with pass-through charging, you can use the controller and still keep your phone topped off because no one wants to get through 99% of Free Cell only to lose power.

Acer Nitro Blaze 8 will start at $899.99 in the second quarter of 2025; Nitro Blaze 11 will start at $1,099.99 also in the second quarter 2025. Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller is coming soon with pricing TBD, but in the meantime, you can keep an eye on their site.

this looks better then the switch

  2. It would be great to have a Nitro Blaze 11 to avoid getting bored on long trips. Judging by the specs, it can handle almost all games.

  3. I look forward to seeing how these compare to other gaming handhelds. An 11″ screen seems quite large for a handheld.
