Do you still use a physical key to unlock your door? How 20th-century! There are many electronic lock choices, but whether you’re still on the fence or need to upgrade a previous lock, U-tec has two new locks to tempt your wallet and ease your key burden: the U-tec ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB + NFC Smart Deadbolt and Bolt Fingerprint with Matter Compatibility.
ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB + NFC Smart Deadbolt
The U-tec ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB + NFC Smart Deadbolt has the most badass name of any door lock. Who wants to get a plain old Kwikset when your lock is literally called a Bolt Mission?
The specs certainly live up to the name—the ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission supports Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings. It’ll unlock in under half a second, is IP65 weather resistant, and utilizes ultra-wideband technology, aka the same way that wireless car keys connect to your car.

And if you’re worried about the security of an electronic lock, rest assured that the U-tec ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB + NFC Smart Deadbolt is locked down. It has two-layer 128-bit AES encryption and a Level 1 security certification from BHMA.
Finally, you won’t need to worry that your house might lock you out while on vacation, as the battery life is one year. The world’s first UWB lock will sell for $399, and it will be available in the first quarter of 2025.
The latest ULTRALOQ Bolt Fingerprint is the brand’s first deadbolt to integrate Matter, offering seamless control and management through Matter-certified apps and platforms. With this feature, you can easily share digital keys with family and guests for scheduled access from your favorite Matter-supported app.
ULTRALOQ Bolt Fingerprint
This smart deadbolt provides multiple access options, including app-based control, fingerprint recognition, voice commands via Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant, secure PIN entry, and traditional key access. Built to withstand the elements with an IP65 rating, it also delivers up to one year of battery life for reliable performance. The Bolt Fingerprint Matter will be available on January 7, 2025, for $199.99 on the U-tec site.
This sounds like a very nice smart lock. I look forward to seeing reviews of it.
Would love an article comparing the smart locks and their integration simplicity (or not) with Google and Alexa. Can attest Google’s Home app is broken when it comes to “motion” detection and automation but their programming interface saved the day
It would be interesting to try these locks. The main thing is not to forget to change the battery, otherwise you won’t get home. 🙂
Love the two-layer 128-bit AES encryption for safety.
