In my testing, I found the on/off settings to each offer a different sound reproduction – both clear but I would liken them to that of a DJ/club style with the noise cancellation switched off and near-field monitors in a recording studio with the noise cancellation on. I auditioned various genres of music including classical, jazz, rock, and pop. Vocals were more present and clearer with ANC on while ANC off really boosts the bass. Guitars and acoustical instruments also benefitted from listening with ANC on.
