ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Slip-In Athletic Shoes Review: Slip-In Comfort for Wide Feet Without the Premium Price

Let’s get this out there right now – I hate tying shoes. I’m a huge fan of slip-ons, but when I want athletic shoes, I’ve been out of luck. When Kiziks first came out, with their slip-on tech, I was excited. But I am blessed with both thick and wide feet, and Kiziks don’t play there. There are some high-priced options out there, but I’m frugal.  I got an offer to test out a pair of ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Athletic Shoes, and they are slip-ins available in wide. Yes, please!

Tell Me About the Shoes

In the simplest terms, these are just sneakers. The ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Slip-In Athletic Shoes come in seven colors and sizes 6-11 for women, and five colors and sizes 7.5-13 for men. But if you’re looking for wide sizes like I was, they are available for men only in black, in sizes 7.5W-13W. So be it. I asked for and received a pair in black in 11.5, wide fit, the only color option available in wide.

The shoes look nice, with a thick sole and plenty of support. The uppers are a mesh fabric that is both stylish and breathable.

The ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Slip-In Athletic Shoes are extremely lightweight, weighing in at only 12.5 ounces for each shoe, an ounce or two lighter than most of my other sneakers. That matters a lot to me since I travel a lot and every ounce in my suitcase counts.

The soles are covered in a geometric pattern that offers solid purchase on every surface I’ve walked on so far.

I had to look up the symbols. It tells me that the upper is made from fabric, as are the inside and insole. The insole has a U-shaped design that cradles the heel securely. The outer sole is made from synthetic material. ALLSWIFIT’s website says that the soles are made from TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane. The X-shaped torsion plate on the heel helps with stability.

A reflective stripe on the back of the shoes improves your visibility at night.

Looking at the laces, you immediately notice that there is no way to tie them. The laces are slightly elastic, so your foot can squeeze into the shoe. No tying! Yay! On my feet, the shoes felt snug but not too tight, with plenty of support.

The real magic comes in the heel extension.

That extended lip guides your foot into the shoe. It bends slightly and snaps back into shape to hold the back of your foot in place.

You slip your foot into the shoe and let your heel push that back ramp out of the way.

With a little pressure, boom – your foot slips past that lip and into the shoe. Easy-peasy, no bending, no tying.

Taking the shoes off is just as easy. Just put a toe against the heel and lift. Your foot slides out easily without ever touching your shoes.

The ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Athletic Shoes have received the APMA Seal of Acceptance.

I didn’t know what that really means, so I checked with Google Gemini. Here’s what I learned.

OK, so they look good, go on and off easily, and seem to fit well. In addition, an independent panel of podiatrists seems to endorse these shoes as good for your feet. I guess that it’s time to put them on and wander.

But How Do They Feel?

In the initial request for a review, I was told that these shoes are “The Best Shoes I’ve Ever Had”: A Nurse’s Pick for 12-Hour Shifts. I’m always a skeptic, especially of over-hyped marketing hyperbole. I put the shoes on and wore them all day, right out of the box.

For me, doing that is generally a risk. With wide and thick feet, comfort is hard to find in shoes. Toe boxes are narrow, there isn’t any arch support, the fit is sloppy and my foot wiggles around, the soles are thin, and I feel every bump, pebble, or other item that I walk on. Also, wearing them all day with zero break-in time usually results in blisters or sore feet. None of those things happened with the ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Athletic Shoes. Color me surprised! At the end of the day, when I slipped the shoes off, my feet felt great.

I’ve continued wearing them every few days. Each day ends up the same. My feet are comfortable all day, and I’m not in a rush to kick them off at the end of the day. For me, that’s amazing. I’ve checked the soles, and even after several days of wear, the soles look essentially like new, suggesting that these will wear well for a long time.

The biggest disappointment for me with the ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Athletic Shoes is that for people like me with wide feet, they follow the Henry Ford model – you can get them in whatever color you want, as long as that color is black. They produce other colors for folks with normal feet. C’mon, ALLSWIFIT! Let us wide-footed people apply a little style to our kicks!

Final Thoughts

The ALLSWIFIT ActiveSolid Athletic Shoes have found a place in my shoe rotation. I love the shoes. They look good and are super-comfy all day. They are available in several stylish colors, assuming that you have normal feet. At this price, I’d love to add a few more to my wardrobe, but alas, with my wide feet, I can only get them in black. They do offer one more men’s style in wide sizes, but that is only available in tan. I’m hoping that ALLSWIFIT reads this and expands their wide offering. We flipper-footed folks want to be stylish and comfy too!
