Infinity X1 2500 Lumen Work Light 3-Pack Review: Multiple Light Levels and a Magnetic Base

Infinity is a lighting manufacturer whose product lines include flashlights, headlamps, work lights, and lighting for the home, outdoors, security, and other uses. In the past, we reviewed their excellent X1 7000 Lumen flashlight, and in this review, we look at the Infinity X1 2500 Lumen Work Light 3-Pack.

Design and Build Quality

Each work light consists of a rugged black plastic body mounted to a stand which features two strong magnets and a quick-release carabiner clip. The light rotates 180 degrees on the stand by clicking through nine preset positions. The light is balanced in all nine positions.

The front face of the light features two sets of lights. In the center is a four-by-six rectangular grid of LEDs, flanked on both sides by two circular lights with raised, textured diffusers. The center lights are the brighter ‘cool’ lights, and the circular lights are the dimmer ‘warm’ lights.

The back of the unit has a rubberized switch that toggles between the five light levels, three for the bright center lights and two for the dimmer warm lights. Below the switch is a rubber flap protecting the two color-coded USB-C ports, a red ‘in’ port for charging and a black ‘out’ port for charging other devices.

The light feels sturdy in hand. Rotating the lamp through its nine positions delivers a satisfying click. The work lights have an IPX4 rating, which means that they are not waterproof but can withstand being splashed without incurring damage. The manufacturer also claims a one-meter drop rating.

Performance

Although compact, these work lights put out serious illumination. At full strength, their 2500-lumen output can easily light rooms of considerable size. The light spreads to fill spaces unlike a flashlight with a focused beam.

In real use, I found the work light handy and easy to use. The magnets securely hold the light to any flat metal surface, including car hoods, and even to cylindrical surfaces such as pipes and ducting.

The various light output and color levels are also very useful. There are times when having the full 2500 lumens is desired, such as changing a tire on the side of the road or working on your home during a power outage. There are also times when that much output is excessive and a dimmer, warmer light is more appropriate.

The convenience of the dual USB-C ports is also a big plus. The rechargeable battery lasts 18 hours on the low/eco settings, and being able to charge devices like your smartphone will undoubtedly come in handy in many situations.

The Infinity X1 2500 Lumen Work Light delivers bright, adjustable lighting, strong magnets, long runtime, and USB-C charging for $48. It is a solid, well-thought-out product. The two lighting modes, five output levels, and adjustable light temperature make it suitable for a wide range of tasks. The rotating stand and strong magnets make it easy to use in every situation, and the added functionality of being able to charge other devices, even when the unit is being charged, adds to its practicality. At $48 for a pack of three, it’s a bargain. Keep one in each car, one in the workshop, and one in the garage.
