Ventev Charging Cables and Chargers

An assortment of Ventev Chargesync Cables

I found out about Ventev shortly before CES. The original plan was that their PR company would send some cables and chargers direct to our hotel, but that box got lost somewhere along the way. After returning home, a new shipment was arranged, and what was inside the box was quite impressive — not only because Ventev sent me such a generous assortment of items to try, but because of the quality of the items I was sent.

Let’s jump right in and start with the Ventev Chargesync Cables …

Have you ever paid attention to the quality of the cables that came with your mobile device? With very few exceptions, they are usually black or white, round, cheaply made, and they tangle easily. Then there is the fact that one cable is seldom enough; you’ll want to have a cable for home, the car, and possibly for your office. If you are (obsessive) like me, then you’ll also want a cable that stays in your travel bag so that you’ll know one is always packed. Rather than buy a second (or third) inferior cable from the manufacturer (Apple, I am specifically looking at you!), why not buy a Ventev Chargesync cable that comes in bright colors, is made to last, and has a no-tangle flat design?

Ventev Chargesync cables are available for MicroUSB, Apple 30-pin, and Apple Lightning ports; they come in gray, white, blue, orange, pink, red, and green. All Chargesync cables are 1 meter long (just a couple of inches over 3 feet), and they support syncing and rapid charging; the MicroUSB and Apple 30-pin cables can handle up to 2.1A, and the Lightning cables can handle up to 2.4A.

Let’s compare the solid design of the Ventev Chargesync cables to the familiar Apple white cable; within months of regular use the white rubber sheath that covers the wires on the Apple cable will start to scrunch and then pull back from the USB plug and the 30-pin or Lightning plug ends.

It should be pretty obvious which cable is made by Ventev and which one is an Apple 30-pin that has been bedazzled with a Whooz?.

Due to their much more rugged design, the horrors shown in the above picture are simply not going to happen on the Ventev Chargesync cables. I was sent two each of the Apple 30-pin and the MicroUSB cables, and you would have thought these cables were wrapped in awesomesauce the way Kev, my daughter Sarah, and Kev’s girls all went nuts over them! I was quickly convinced that it would only be right for me to share my bounty. 😉

Ventev Chargesync Cables are an excellent replacement for worn out OEM sync and charge cables, and they are the perfect choice once you decide that you need extras. Because they look so striking and come in so many colors, you’ll never have to worry about someone else snagging your cord!

An assortment of Ventev Chargers

I did mention that the box I received from Ventev was generously packed, right? Because besides the fabulous set of cables I was sent, there were quite a few other useful goodies, all designed to keep mobile devices charged. What all of these chargers had in common was that they were more solidly made than many I have tried, and they were all coated in that black rubbery soft-touch material that looks and feels better than shiny plastic. Let’s start with the Ventev Dashport Mini Single USB Charger …

Ventev Dashport Mini Single USB Charger

If you ever come visit me at the ranch, you’ll know that Kev and I have enough vehicles between the two of us to stock a small used car lot. Some of them are used for work and some for personal use, but depending upon the day (what we are doing and the places we might go) each vehicle has a specific purpose. And yet between the two of us, Kev and I only had two car chargers! I’d be lying if I didn’t say that more than once one of us has driven away from home … only to have to return because we had forgotten to retrieve our charger and cable from the vehicle we were last using. It makes a lot more sense to have a charger in every vehicle, and that’s where the Dashport Mini comes in. Able to rapidly charge one device (you supply the cable), the Dashport mini is small, yet powerful. MSRP is $20.

Ventev Dashport Dual USB Universal Charger

I normally ride around with two devices (or a co-pilot), which is why the Ventev Dashport Dual USB Universal Charger was of particular interest; each port has 5V, 2.1A (10W) output, so both of its USB ports are capable of rapid charging an iPad or other tablet. Even better, you can purchase it on its own (no included cable) for $30, or you can get one that includes a MicroUSB cable or an Apple 30-pin cable for $35.

Ventev Wallport Dual USB Charger

The Ventev Wallport Dual USB charger is perfect for anyone who travels or who wants to free up a plug on the wall. Each port has 5V, 2.1A (10W) output, so it is designed to rapidly charge two devices, even if both are power-hungry tablets! The AC prongs fold into the back of the charger, making it easy to pack. The Wallport Dual can be purchased on its own (no included cable) for $30, with a MicroUSB or Apple 30-pin cable for $35, or with an Apple Lightning cable for $40.

Ventev Wallport Single USB Eco Charger

The Ventev Wallport Single USB Eco Charger is the only charger of the four I was sent that isn’t capable of rapid charging, but it also boats that it will consume 100 times less standby power than other chargers. Its output is 5V, 1A (5W), so it isn’t a rapid charger, but it will charge your phone, tablet and other mobile devices all in good time. This Eco charger is $20 on its own (no cable included), $25 with either a MicroUSB or Apple 30-pin cable, or $30 with an Apple Lightning cable included.

As far as I am concerned, you can never have too many chargers or charging cables. I have tried many of both that either fell apart over time or that inexplicably stopped working when I attached my iPad instead of my iPhone. Ventev Chargesync Cables, Wallport chargers and Dashport chargers are built to last, powerful, and good-looking; I highly recommend them.
