Just a few weeks ago that we took a look at STM’s studio for the iPad mini. The company was kind enough to also send one of their larger cases, the STM studio for iPad air. With the same design as its smaller sibling, the $45 studio for iPad air protects your iPad air with color and simplicity. Order now.

The STM studio for iPad air is a folio-style case for the 9.7″ iPad that wraps your tablet is a layer of soft, synthetic protection. Available in four different color combinations, the inexpensive case looks and feels great. And it removes any need for carrying a separate stand! It features

  • Designed to fit the new iPad Air
  • Instant on/off front cover wakes and puts the device to sleep
  • Snap in, hard shell bracket with soft lining protects from scratches and bumps
  • Lightweight and slim construction for comfortable and easy carry
  • Easy access to device ports and control buttons
  • Foldable front cover for both typing and viewing modes
  • Unique magnetic closure for quick and easy access
  • Complete protection for your iPad

STM describes the case in this way.

Designed to fit the new iPad Air, the studio sports a patented magnetic design for multiple viewing angles and world-class protection. The unique magnetic closure easily clicks into the perfect viewing or typing position. The wrap-design protects your tablet from everyday hazards and makes for a comfortable carry. The studio iPad Air case is the ultimate companion for your new device.

The company also includes a RewardTag sticker to help you get your lost tablet back. (Personally I prefer Apple’s Find My iPhone/iPad but every bit helps.)

As expected, cutouts on the case are precise and allow complete access to all the necessary functions without leaving any more of the tablet exposed than is necessary.

I especially like the way the case doubles as a stand.

Flip the cover around to the back and let the magnet/s in the flap grab the back of the case. This creates a secure triangle of case which allows the tablet to be placed in landscape or portrait. It works well.

The polycarbonate case is lined with micro suede to help keep your iPad as safe and protected as possible. And at an MSRP of $45, less if you purchase it here through our Amazon Affiliate Store. Learn more here.

MSRP: $45

What I Like: Good protection; Available in four color combinations; Cover doubles as a two-position stand

What Needs Improvement: Nothing, if you like a folio-style case this is worth a look
