Apple may call the iPod a product line in decline, but I still love my 5th generation iPod touch. It’s my main music device and, when I’m home, it sees more use than my iPhone. When the iFrogz Luxe Lean Case for iPod touch 5th Generation went on sale for under $5, I grabbed one of the thin, light cases.
Available in black, blue, pink and red, the iFrogz Luxe Lean Case for Apple iPod touch 5th Gen is made from polycarbonate and adds a layer of color and protection to the iOS device. Thin, light and offering just a bit of added protection, this is the anti-Otterbox case.
A lean snap-lock case with a velvet insert made to hold your smartphone snug and tight. Protects against impact damage and guards the surface from dust and scratches. Professional design made for easy access to volume controls, silent lock, sensors, and camera. A selection of colors to enhance your style and gadget experience.
I got the iPod touch because it offers almost all the same functionality as my iPhone but in an even thinner, lighter package. It is for that reason that I often use it with no case at all. The “just enough case” LuxeLean is a great middle ground between “no case” and “too much case”. I loved how easily it snapped around my touch and offers protection without bulk. It does cover the loop button so that iPod touch-only feature is unusable with the LuxeLean in place. (That’s no issue for me since I’ve used the Loop a total of “never”.)
The iFrogz Luxe Lean Case for iPod touch 5th Generation adds protection but does more than that. The slits on both sides of the case not only allow the color of the iPod touch to come through but they add some grip to an otherwise smooth device. In other words, the case makes it esker to hold and use the touch without adding significant weight or bulk.
At $24.99 the simplistic LuxeLean would have been a bit overpriced, but at the current sale price of $4.99 it is a steal. If you have an iPod touch I highly recommend grabbing one or two of these. I love it and think you will too.
MSRP: $24.99 on sale for $4.99
What I Like: Thin; Light; Offers good corner protection; Cool design that lets the iPod’s color come through
What Needs Improvement: Does not offer serious drop protection
