Some exciting news arrived in our mailbox this morning! The Alcatel IDOL 3, their new 5.5-inch flagship smartphone announced back at Mobile World Congress, is now available for limited time early pre-sale for $199.99!

When fully launched the new Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 will be available in 2 sizes, a 4.7-inch model which will be offered at the $199 price, and a 5.5-inch model which will be priced at just $249. These are the same sizes of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. As of now, this pre-order only is for the 5.5-inch model.
The 4.7-inch model runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and features 8 GB of storage. It has a memory card slot, 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, and runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
The 5.5-inch Idol 3 model features a 1080p LCD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, a memory card slot, a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. Both smartphone models feature Technicolor-tuned LCD displays as well as loud, 1.2 watt, JBL-designed front-facing speakers.
The greatest, most unique feature of both of these new Alcatel smartphones is that they flip upside down (as in, they’re reversible). The UI is always right-side up, regardless of which way you happen to be holding the phone.
Since the phones use LTE, both smartphones feature all of the appropriate bands for T-Mobile and AT&T. This also includes T-Mobile’s new Band 12. These unlocked phones are also compatible with Metro PCS, Cricket, Straight Talk and a number of other carriers that use T-Mobile and/or AT&T networks.
This limited time offer runs through 11:59pm PDT on April 20, with official pre-sale kicking off on April 21 as announced last week. The April 21 official pre-order will be at the announced online exclusive price of $249.99. Pre-ordered IDOL 3’s will ship mid-May with official sale going live at that time as well.
