Traveling Breeze Fan-Cooled Camping Chair Is the Future in Outdoor Relaxation

Imagine the most comfortable camping chair in which you’ve ever relaxed. Now, imagine that camping chair has built-in air conditioning. Now you’ll have an idea of how awesome the Traveling Breeze is. This portable chair has two quiet, high flow fans built-in to cool your back, neck and shoulders while you rest in its embrace and it’s available for $69.99.

Traveling Breeze Fan-Cooled Camping Chair Is the Future in Outdoor RelaxationI was a non-believer when I first heard about the Traveling Breeze.  I thought there was no way that a camping chair could really cool me, but I was dead wrong. The small fans really work wonders cooling you by blowing air on your back, neck, head, and shoulders.    Plus, it’s not too much heavier than your average camping chair and it all fits into a portable bag just like all the “normal” camping chairs.  The combination of the mesh back, mesh bottom, and the airflow around your back allow your skin to breathe and let the air flow all around you, helping to evaporate any sweat, which in turn, cools the body.

Carrying Bag

The Traveling Breeze was a breeze to set up.  Just imagine your everyday folding camping chair.  You take it out of the bag, unfold it, and sit down.  Only with the Traveling Breeze, there’s the extra step of installing the rechargeable battery in the Velcro compartment under the left arm of the chair and plugging the power cord into it.  Then you flip the switch on the battery, and away the fans go.

The Traveling Breeze is constructed with an air chamber in the back of the chair with the mesh back of the chair and a solid nylon back to force the air up and out onto your back and neck.  The two 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ x 1″ box fans move about 60cfm (cubic feed per minute) of air while registering about 35 decibels each.  The fans work very well to move air around your back.  These fans are quiet, but not silent.  You’ll definitely notice the sound, but if you’re outdoors, it’ll likely blend in with whatever else is going on.  The fans themselves are easily replaceable if something goes wrong, because they’re attached to the chair using four Velcro strips.  I found this out the hard way because one of my fans cracked during shipping and arrived damaged.  Traveling Breeze was simply able to mail replacement fans and I installed them in less than a minute.

The chair itself is extra-wide at 20 inches and extra-comfortable.  The chair is made with sturdy steel tube construction with two-ply 600 denier nylon and mesh.  The chair has a cup holder as well as a magazine/book/tablet holder on the other arm for easy living.  The battery is a 12V 2.6Ah rechargeable battery and is recharged using the same jack you use to plug into the chair to power the fans.  The Traveling Breeze comes with an AC adapter to plug into the wall to simply and easily recharge the battery.

Another advantage to the Traveling Breeze is that mosquitoes hate wind! According to The National institute of Health, “We recommend that fan-generated wind should be pursued as a practical means of protecting humans or pets from mosquitoes in the backyard setting.” When you are using the Traveling Breeze, the built-in fans dilute the carbon monoxide you breathe out and make you less attractive to mosquitoes! Additionally, breeze from the fans make it harder for them to fly near you.

My only complaint about the Traveling Breeze is that the fans aren’t as quiet as I had hoped they’d be.  However, I realize that my expectation for completely silent fans is probably over-the-top.  The battery is rather large and heavy as well, but that’s not such a big deal when it’s connected to the chair or thrown in the carrying bag.

This chair will work wonders for those of us who want to watch our kids play soccer in the blazing heat or who want to sit out on the dock in the summertime.  I can’t wait to use the Traveling Breeze for the remainder of this summer and for years to come!
