The ZAGG Now Cam Frees Your Photography and Videography From Your Phone

ZAGG’s been doing some interesting things as of late. I have a review of their iPhone 6 Speaker Case coming shortly and that’s just the beginning. Their latest creation is the ZAGG Now Cam. This little camera is designed to let you capture video and images without running your smartphone battery down. And that’s just the beginning!

The Now Cam is actually three devices in one. It is a Social Video AND a Camera AND a Bluetooth Speaker. All that and it still costs under $130. As ZAGG explains:

The Now Cam frees you from the confines of viewing life from behind a screen. From spontaneous moments to special memories you want to preserve forever, the Now Cam’s ready at a moment’s notice with just the touch of a button. Vacations, parties road trips with friends. Traveling, exploring, or just hanging out – the Now Cam keeps you in the now. Live in the moment and re-live it later. Enjoy every moment.

The centerpiece of the Now Camera is the image and video functionality.

It has a still camera and, thanks to the 4GB of onboard memory, it can store up to 1,600 images. It also has an HD video camera that can store up to 30 minutes of video at 720P. ZAGG makes special note that, thanks to the 120° wide-angle capture, you get a “generous field of vision for every picture and video” and, as a result, you can “cover all the angles for every situation.” It translates to being a camera with which you can simply shoot and go.

The key to this camera is the easy-to-use controls. With the simple turn of a dial, you can move between three different modes: video, 6-second video bursts, and still shots. This ease-of-use helps ensure that a picture or video doesn’t escape you as you fumble with touchscreens and buttons in order to dig down to your phone’s camera app. That, in turn, lets you “stay in the action.”

But ZAGG being ZAGG, they didn’t want this camera to be just a camera. Instead, they opted to add a speaker with a 30mm driver to it. The speaker has Bluetooth so you can connect wirelessly, and a microphone so you can use the speaker as a speakerphone. The speaker can give up to three hours of wireless music and has an auto-mute function that pauses the music when the Now Cam is put into video mode.

And did I mention the camera is water resistant? Or that you can purchase additional accessories and turn it into a truly waterproof camera or on that can mount to your handlebars? And did I mention the free ZAGG Now Cam App for Android and iOS devices? The app lets you easily transfer pictures and video to your phone over the built-in wifi for quick upload and sharing.

This little camera is ready for your next adventure thanks to:

  • The Waterproof Seal: protects from water damage up to two meters (6 feet) for 30 minutes.
  • The Polycarbonate Case: delivers extreme impact protection.
  • The Glass Lens Cover: resists scratches and ensures you always get super clear pictures.

We are looking forward to checking it out and doing a full review soon. In the meantime, you can learn more about the new ZAGG NOW Cam here on the product page!
