The Jackery Titan S Rechargeable Battery for Tablets and Smartphones Review

It’s a little late for a stocking stuffer, but if you have a student you’re sending back to college after the holiday break, you might want to send them back with power — the power to keep their devices charged throughout even the longest days. For that, the Jackery Titan S is perfect.

If your student already has an Android phone or tablet, a new MacBook or MacBook Pro, then they are already firmly entrenched in the USB Type-C universe, and they’ll be thankful to get a battery pack that is as forward thinking as their updated equipment.

Included in the box are the 20,100mAh Titan S battery, a USB to microUSB cable, and a USB to USB Type-C cable.

The Jackery Titan S measures approximately 6.1″ long by 3.1″ wide by 0.9″ thick and weighs 15.4 ounces; it’s a solid chunk that packs a lot of power.

On the business end, there’s a power button (when you press it, it will display how much battery life is left in 25% increments on the LED above it); there is a 5V 3A max Smart Fit USB port (it can provide universal full speed charging for non-Quick Charge devices, up to 3 amps), an 18W Quick Charge 2.0 USB port, and a 3V 3A max USB Type-C port on the end. You charge the battery by plugging the included USB Type-C cable into this port, or you can use the charger that came with your MacBook or Android device. You can also use the Type-C port to charge your Android phone or tablet; the USB Type-C port is rated at 18W max, so while it will charge and top off your MacBook, it won’t do it quite as fast as the 29W Apple MacBook charger.

The battery ships with a half charge; it take a couple of hours to top it off fully, but the battery will hold its charge for weeks and can easily recharge your devices multiple times before it needs to be recharged.

This is one of several Jackery product reviews that I have done in the last year, and each time I review one of their products I am again reminded of how nicely done they are. Jackery products are solidly built, powerful, and long-lasting. The Titan S is a great addition to an already strong product group.

The Jackery Titan S Rechargeable Battery for Tablets and Smartphones retails for $45.99, and it is available from Amazon [affiliate link].
