If you’ve ever had to suffer with finding your luggage at the gate, or just wanted to set yourself apart from the rest of the airport, you really need to check out Away’s new Carry-On in a limited edition “Minion Yellow”, inspired by the movie Despicable Me.
We’ve covered Away Luggage’s “The Medium” before, which is more geared towards those of you who prefer to check your luggage, but there are small cases where you might just need to travel for just a few days and want to make sure your bag won’t get turned away by TSA and be checked. This is the perfect one for you. Thoughtfully designed by Away Luggage, when empty it only weighs seven pounds and features some remarkable additions outside of it’s bright yellow shell.
On the inside of the bag you’ll receive two compartments, just like all of Away’s luggage which is made for your clothes, shoes, and essentials you carry with you when you go out of town. The only thing truly missing is an outside pocket (obviously due to having a polycarbonate shell) but it would be great to easily access your belongings like a fabric suitcase would typically have. There is an included laundry bag that stays stowed away when not in use that I actually applaud Away for including, as well as a nice shirt sleeve/pocket in between the two compartments that I normally house my dress shirts.
To make up for the lack of outside pockets however, you get a built-in battery that allows you to charge up your device when you’re in the terminal and all of the outlets are taken which I enjoy the luxury of having. This functionality doesn’t take up any additional space in your bag, and personally… I think all bags could use this feature after experiencing it on the Away Carry-On.
I’ve had random people come up to me saying how great the special yellow suitcase looks, or kids saying that the special ID tag makes my bag look like a Minion (which I admit is petty awesome), one feature I love the most about this bag is the added security from the TSA-Approved combination lock. The two zippers on the bag can be inserted into the slot next to the three combination lock, and you can feel comfortable about the fact nobody will get into your things.
When you do want to get away though, look no further than Away’s Carry-On Luggage. For more information, you can head over directly to their site and purchase yourself one for $225.

What I Like: The Yellow stands out and the hinamoto wheels never lock up on concrete, carpet which my other suitcases have done
What Needs Improvement: The Carry-On model is a bit small, if you have more than 2-3 days worth of clothes, you should consider “the bigger carry on”
